This was back when Rummy was nominated.

  • Isn't Senator Obama telling us that he has great judgment?

  • Isn't it his judgment that will save us at 3am?

  • Well he didn't have such great judgment about Rummy or other Bush appointees.

  • One speech, One good judgment in a career does not make a president.

1. Are you implying that Obama voted in favor of Rumsfeld's nomination as Secy of Defense?

2. No implication. He wasn't a Senator yet was he?
Just pointing out that his judgment may not be what he claims

4. He thought Rumsfeld was good
He said he thought Rummy and the other appointees were good. Nothing more but,

His main argument is that he has better Judgment than Hillary. Well he may have had better judgment on the war but then again he wasn't a Senator for that vote either.

We should not IMHO being selecting a President based on One judgment out of many that we make in our lives. If his history of Good Judgment was without error then I'd believe the argument, but on the contrary he has a history of making some rather poor judgments, as does Hillary.

5. He didn't say they were "good" -- but thanks for clearing that up. I thought this was your ploy.

15. You are so full of shit. He gave Rumsfeld credit for being political.
He didn't say he was good. He said Rumsfeld's a player. That's a healthy respect for your enemy.

9. How many ways can Obama Supporters spin this
My post is about his judgment but I'm getting accused of putting words in his mouth that I do not.

I do not say except in a comment that he thinks Rummy is good. That comment was my opinion.

The original op is about Judgment. The core of the Obama campaign.

That is all.

10. Seems to me
that if that clip was allowed to continue, we'd be hearing Obama say, "but". There's always a reason for short clips such as this.

14. Where's the rest of it?
Obama very frequently starts out with positives, later adding a qualifier or "on the other hand" portion to his statement. (Think about how he starts out praising Clinton or McCain before he says "but....")

These 18 seconds are obviously a very truncated portion of something larger. Where's the rest of it? What is the whole context of what he said?
