If we find a good Obama article or story AND we are past our 3 post limit, should
we post it in the Obama forum to notify other Obama supporters of the story so that one of them can post it in GD: P?

Just an idea.

I posted two threads last night. Both positive articles focused on Obama. One was the NYT story on Michelle and the other was a Business Week article Is Obama good for business? Despite liberal positions, Illinois senator seen willing to listen. That leaves one thread until 7:50 pm tonight.

I know there is going to be a lot of news popping up and it will be weird to not be able to share it on DU.

What do you guys think?

1. I think we need to follow the spirit of the new rule, by doing the following:
Please post articles in the Obama forum (even IF you crosspost to GDP). It's just much nicer to come in here, to learn what is going on, at least to start out with.

I do not think it should be suggested -- "hey, I'm out of posts for the day, can you post it?". That strikes me as a no, no.

However, each Obama forum member can, on their own, CHOOSE to post on GDP, just like they could have by reading the article on, say, TPM.

So, I definitely encourage all Obama supporters to post the articles in here, cross post to GDP if they can, but not let anyone know if they are out of threads for the day.

2. That sounds good. We probably need to just start using this forum more - like
you guys made the John Kerry forum so active.

Halperin's website says Obama is supposed to have a major endorsement coming out today. We will see.

Obama Camp Teases Major National Endorsement

Campaign will announce “key” backer at a 11 am ET conference call with reporters.

Who could it be?

There isn't really a reason to post the tease in GD: P before the announcement. We will see who it is at 11:00. I did notice yesterday that Obama has no public events scheduled today. He is back home in Chicago. Maybe a day to rest or strategy sessions or film some commercials. I was also wondering where John Edwards happens to be today since that meeting was supposed to be rescheduled

3. This forum actually has livened up quite a bit. We just need to
have more discussions, and maybe do pic threads. And, you know, have some fun. I think GDP is a nasty place, and it seems like no matter how many times I put yet another person on ignore, 10 more appear with similar nastiness. So I would love it if this forum became more active, both with news and organizing info.

5. I think the three thread limit will help with that actually so it may end up working out really well

6. post it here
Yes, please post it here.

If I had my druthers I'd rather just stay in here and read them without having to wade through attacks.

I agree if someone else likes it enough that they want to post it out there, they can, but It would be great to be able to have an intelligent discussion about it in here first.
