Is Obama Girl taboo?
Sorry, I'm brand new to this forum. To be honest I didn't even know it existed, but was getting tired of GDP and noticed it! I'm afraid that Obama Girl type fan things might get pounced on in GDP, but maybe I can ask here?

Of course completely in jest, but: I wonder if Obama's failure to win categorically on Tuesday could be partially blamed on an absence of Obama Girl in the media for the past month. I know whenever I get discouraged I go to barelypolitical.com, and somehow it cheers me up - and then we win!

Get back out there girl (or someone equally funny) and get us revved up again!

1. I think when she failed to vote
she kind of outlived her usefulness. I thought she was kind of funny, in a good way. I really liked the Rocky one she did. I think when Tina Fey did the SNL thing, she made the reporters wonder if they weren't really with the "cool kids". I also haven't been watching any of the late night shows, etc. If they start mocking him, then that may have had an affect too. People say that stuff doesn't matter, but I think it matters more than cable. People are so shallow and don't want to be seen as aligning themselves with a joke.

4. She's a fictional character! She can't vote!!
But I take your meaning, though what Amber Lee (?) does as an actual human being doesn't mean much to me. Obama girl, OTOH, has super powers!!

I just think those silly fan videos (that get national media) help to lighten the mood a little, which I actually think helps Obama. When things are so heavy It's harder to see something fresh and new in any politician. Plus they show young people getting involved which is always refreshing.

2. I think she's out of style right now.
There's not a lot of substance there, and since she didn't vote, her popularity sunk like a thread over in GD-P.

Glad you've come to this forum. I find it refreshing.
