Okay, now she has just got on my last nerve. What can we do to win PA? To hell with DU, every free moment we need to be doing something that directly affects Pennsylvania. Ideas??

That's a real stretch for Wyoming. I mean, really! Most of us picture those people out on the range riding horses and boiling their coffee grounds in a pot over a fire! Yes I know, that's the OLD West, but still...

I really hope the Obama camp can win PA. That would finish off the farce that is the Clinton campaign for once and for all.

2. i just read article that obama is going to travel

to europe, asia & isreal to get more experience in. that is what he had planned to do before this last weekend and they say he may still go because he needs the experience for the fall against mccain.

and to do so he may give up PA...

he is in a very tight place right now with no good answers.

Cowboy Coffee. A couple quarts of water, handful of coffee grounds. When it gets boiling good and smells like coffee, take it off the heat and shock it with a bit of cold water to settle the grounds to the bottom of the pot.

And you know just what I'd like to do with it after I brew it too.

I've visited you guys there quite a bit since my son moved to Portland and my daughter lived for a while in Seattle--and I must say that in both states, Coffee is King! (especially Peet's and Stumptown-yum!)

5. Phone banking and letters to the editors of PA newspapers.

I'm in IL and won't be able to help out on the ground in PA, so I will phone bank and write letters from home. I suggest we all write LTTEs. Pick a topic, keep it reasonably short, and send it to the papers in PA. Pick a new topic and repeat. We've got six weeks to educate PA voters on why they should choose Obama over Hillary. I don't have time now (probably not tomorrow either), but if others are interested in doing this, I'll gather email addys for PA newspapers early next week and post them here. :hi:

12. Seems there is so much we could use, it's hard to know where to start.

I just came across this thread in GDP discussing what Obama's PA strategy should be, so maybe this could be used as a starting point.

Maybe those interested could toss some ideas out for discussion.

I absolutely think Hillary needs to be called on some of her bs - Obama's ready to be my veep, even though he's not ready to be prez, how Hillary's blessing of a McCain presidency over an Obama presidency would affect the USSC, the economy, and Hillary helping McCain frame the GE debate on his perceived strong point (:wtf:). Then there's her padded resume.

I think we also need to focus on Obama's accomplishments, his desire for an open government, and restoring our image abroad. I have lots of threads bookmarked that cover some of this, but I don't have time now to link them here.

Another interesting topic is looking at the campaigns they've run as an example of the type of leadership they'd bring to the OO. Hillary claims to be ready on day one, yet she was unprepared for the primary season to continue beyond ST. Obama has been ready to compete in every state from day one.

Voters were getting so many robo calls that when we tried to enter into a "live" discussion, they hung up on us.

Did you talk to anyone from the Obama campaign? If so, how did they respond? The last thing we need is turning people off by bugging them.

Our phone banking experience in OH was positive, but it also took place the weekend of the 2-22 - 2-24. Maybe people were sick of the phone ringing by the time election day neared.

phone banking back in 2004, and to tell you the truth, it was nothing like the pre-primary phone calls here in Ohio. We received more robo calls this time that we did previous to the 2004 election. I'd venture to guess that Hillary "phoned" more than six time; it became a joke at our house.

No, I didn't speak to anyone from the Obama campaign. I, unofficially, began to use my old list from 2004 (suggested after a group of us from the 2004 campaign met) and became discouraged very quickly.

I (painfully) recall sending a letter to Arlen Spector and receiving a response from his office which more-or-less stated: thanks but since you're not a constituent, you don't matter.

My email address identifies me as a resident of Ohio and so would my postmark.

Would our efforts be better served by posting our ideas in the Pennsylvania forum and letting them take it from there?

19. My suggestion was to send letters to PA newspapers, not elected

representatives. Out-of-state letters get printed in newspapers all across the country, so I don't see why the same wouldn't be true for PA. Some letters don't make it to the print edition, but get posted online. Even if they make neither, someone reads the letter before deciding whether to publish or pitch it, so at least the point being made in the letter is read by another person.

I think it's worth it to get something going. We can always forget the idea if we don't seem to be getting anywhere. If you don't think it will work though, please don't feel obligated to participate. :-)

I like your idea of approaching the PA forum - they could probably provide insight on issues particular to PA that people from out-of-state might not be aware of.
