Surrogates M.I.A.?
Edited on Tue Mar-11-08 06:47 PM by politicasista
I was listening to a podcast from yesterday's Tom Joyner Morning Show, and CNN contributor Roland Martin, an Obama supporter was being interviewed. He was saying basically the same thing that O supporters have been saying all along. Basically Barack has to be more aggressive (in a gentleman way :)), but the campaign has to do a better job of using his surrogates more effectively.

Using the surrogates effectively. Unfortunately, this is what the HRC surrogates have been doing since the religion (i.e. Muslim, middle name Hussein) issues, NAFTA-gate, pre-Super Tuesday II. They have been on every news show repeating the same talking points over and over again until they stick in people's minds (i.e. experience issue).

That's not to say Obama isn't fighting back, but I agree with Martin. The campaign has to find a way to work around the media (HRC) machine. He noted that his top surrogates should have been on each news network talking up Obama's religion, pointing out the facts behind his cultural background, as well as call out Mrs. Ferraro's disrepectful comments, and point out the double standard behind this all. If the campaign can do this, then he will be even better in GE, but the campaign should not let all these talented, knowledgeable people that have endorsed or supported him go to waste.
