Supporters of Barack Obama have won a North Dakota Democratic convention struggle for a single presidential delegate.
The contest played out late this afternoon, just before the North Dakota state convention adjourned today.
North Dakota has 21 delegates to the Democratic National Convention in Denver in late August. Seven of them are so-called "superdelegates." They can vote for whomever they please. Six of the seven superdelegates have declared their support for Obama.
Today, North Dakota Democratic convention delegates elected an eighth superdelegate to the national convention. They picked Fargo businessman Dan Hannaher.
Hannaher is a senior North Dakota adviser to the Obama campaign.
In all, the North Dakota convention chose 14 delegates to the national convention this weekend. Nine of them are supporting Obama, while five are backing rival Hillary Rodham Clinton.
North Dakota's delegation will also have another seven delegates who represent elected party officials. Six of them have said they're supporting Obama.
The seventh is state Party Chairman David Strauss. He says he's staying uncommitted.

Damn, he's winning every small battle for one more delegate in how many states now?
