I've volunteered to man the phones in Indiana and I need help
For those who don't know, I go to school in Indiana but my home is in Chicago. So today I stopped by the Obama office by school and they talked me into doing a list. It's seventy five calls. I'm really nervous because I'm very very shy in person and I've never done anything like this before. But I really want to contribute to the cause so here goes.

Anyway, I read the script and it says all the basic stuff, "Hi how are you, I'm a volunteer, etc." Then for the "no" or "undecided" response it says to list these four things (1.) Obama's refusal of special interest money 2.) Leader in passing the most comprehensive ethics reform package in Washington and the state senate. He refuses donations for lobbyists and PACs 3.) War vote 4.) Unity

I know Indiana is really important here. I go to school here though and I know this is going to be a tough nut to crack. Not a week goes by that I don't hear at least one racial slur. So I really want to do this right. Other than his site, where can I go to make sure I know these four topics backwards and forwards. I want to be ready to field any question/regurgitated smear that might come my way.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

1. not sure, but i found this tips page for phone banking
most people aren't going to really ask too many specific policy questions so i wouldn't worry about it too much.

3. I had a major problem making calls today
I loved making calls to"Obama supporters in Ohio that had expressed interest in getting out the vote in PA."

That part was great and I love the Obama user friendly site.

But they give you a list of names and phone numbers in Ohio -- you make the call and then you are given choices

1- YES they could volunteer in PA
2- Maybe
3- No
4? Other

Those buttons would not operate today!

I made my calls any way and got lots of positive people who were willing to work. I put there responses on paper

But, when you are able to click YES, someone is suppose to get back to the Ohio person.

I tried to call headquarters and it's all tape recorded. :)

So I gave them as much information as I could and told them to go to My.BarackObama.com/ActionCenter and to call me if there was a problem.

What else can I do?
