"Douglas County, (Obama) won by more than 3-to-1" in the 2008 caucus.

Peter D. Hoagland was a Democrat who was the congressman for the 2nd congressional from 1989 to 1995.

Douglas county, has the highest African American population in the state at about 12% and is highly educated, over 30% have a bachelors degree or higher. The only other county in the district is Sarpy, which is also highly educated.

1. Survey USA notes this possibility here:
"Obama carries 24 states plus the District of Columbia … and then there is Nebraska, which divides its electoral votes based on which candidate wins each of the state’s congressional districts. McCain wins Nebraska 45% to 42%, but loses in two of the state’s three congressional districts, which results in Barack Obama taking two of Nebraska’s five electoral votes."

2. Is Lincoln in Douglas too?
I think there is the potential of Obama doing it. I know one thing for sure Hillary wouldn't have a chance in hell of doing it.

3. No, it's not...
Lincoln is in the 1st District.

I'm actually surprised by the OP. Lincoln is traditionally MUCH more liberal than Omaha.

True, Omaha has a larger African-American population, but Lincoln is dominated by the University of Nebraska.

In 2004, we were trying to turn the 1st District blue. The 2nd District wasn't even close.
