In 2005, the Republican Congress and President created a Y2K-style
problem with its "Energy Policy Act."

At the aggregate level, I wonder how many billions of dollars this little bullshit lip-service move is going to cost U.S. business and the U.S. economy, this gesture made by people who preferred not to do anything real to solve our nation's energy problem.

The Air Transport Association estimated in 2005 that the move would cost the airline industry $150 million per year.
