Message from the unwashed......Come clean, Mr. Bush

How much longer are we supposed to sit still and obligingly nod at the calculated prevarications coming from George W. Bush? How many more laws will we watch him break and how many more people will we watch him kill? Are we supposed to wire ourselves up to a Frank Luntz Emote-O-Meter and yell "USA, USA" just so we can be on Gonzales` Real Patriots list? Is the pile of rubble lying in Bush`s wake not obvious enough? Not bloody enough?

It`s one thing for Bush to give us an unemployment figure that`s off by 2/10 of a per cent, but it`s quite another for him to stand there and lie out loud about matters involving war and peace, life and death. How much more patience must we have? Until "the number" reaches 10,000?

Are we supposed to accept this notion that in order to not discourage the troops, "undermine" the troops, give comfort to our enemies or appear weak, we have to make certain our non-binding resolutions don`t offend John Warner? If that`s the case, let`s just sell our souls to the highest-bidding PNACer and get over it. Then we can all get yellow ribbon magnets and go to Disneyland.

Let`s pretend the White House is your house. You`re standing there as the president enters the Oval Office and puts a smoking gun on his desk. He tells you it`s not a gun, it`s a banana. It`s still smoking. Fox News says it`s a banana. Both Orin Hatch and Mitch McConnell say it`s definitely a banana. Tony Snow call a press briefing and does a slide show on Official White House Bananas. What would you believe? I`d say, "Come clean, Mr. Bush. Your lies are killing us."
