the big LOSER was Wolf
He was getting smacked down good with his simplistic hypotheticals. I'm glad they didn't take the bait and told him so.

2. Agreed. That was the real excitement of the debate.
Watching the Dems kick aside the Corporate Media traps. Don't forget the "should English be our official language?" nonsense, too.

NGU.

20. So glad to see that Dems have learned how to take control of
an American style "debate." Well, it's more swiftboating than a debate.

8. Hillary got some serious applause...
Edited on Sun Jun-03-07 08:35 PM by Chimpys_Last_Stand
...when she repeated the bit about hypotheticals, in response to Wolf's ridiculous "hands up yes or no" questions.

Wolf is a laughing stock.

Seriously...he must have pictures of the head of AOL/Time/Warner getting it on with a German Shepherd or something....

17. More likely the other way around
The head of the AOL/Time/Warner of the media propaganda cartel must have pictures of Wolfie getting it on with German shepherd or something. That's why Wolfie so readily does the bidding of the propaganda cartel.

14. Yup, Cafferty might have actually pursued a followup to Biden's comments on public financing!
Edited on Sun Jun-03-07 09:30 PM by calipendence
You just knew the corporate tool Blitzer was going to stop any discussion of it after Biden brought it up! Biden's comments were a surprise, but Blitzer's changing the subject sure wasn't!

19. Ditto. Oh well.
You stink. Cafferty should do the debates. Stop with the fucking hypotheticals and start reading "The Assault on Reason." God knows you need a reality check, and no you are not doing journalism.

16. I had to turn it off. He kept interrupting and trying to cut them off.
It made me mad, so I turned the channel. He didn't want any real answers and made that clear.

23. The Entire Debate Was A Joke...
When I think town forum, I think of a local high school gym or restaurant and the people deciding the issues to be discussed, not the corporate media. There were no soundbites or "gotchas" involved, just solid questions from concerned and interested citizens who wanted specific answers to very specific questions or issues and not out to try to get ratings or make themselves look smarter than the candidate.

What I saw last night (and it's not just this "debate") but a made-for-TV student council "debate". CNN had a stupid "Countdown Clock" running all day so we would get more and more "excited" as the debate moment drew near. They pumped up all kinds of divisions...and trying to rake every talking point and stereotype of every candidate they could find. Issues? Real issues? Nah, those aren't "sexy" enough. Wolfie was out there to both "look good" and see if he can get his "gotcha" that he'll replay over and over...either to bash Democrats or as set ups for GOOP mouthpieces. These were Beltway "questions" imposed on the people of New Hampshire...who were nothing more than props. I couldn't tell if the people in the audience were there for a debate, or waiting for Dave to ask them if they want Know Your Current Events or Know Your Cuts of Meat.

But Wolfie wasn't the only ass with a hat on the scene...there was Anderson "lookin' good" and Larry King crawling around the stage with his eyes always trained on Mrs. Kucinich's ass. Then there were the "usual" suspects doing the anal-isis...including good old Candy Crowley. Nuff said.

I got very little from the candidates knew from the candidates. I would image many felt the same way. Answers were intended for soundbites or to create some "moment" where one candidate was going after another. I'm sure that the network honchos would have been extatic if Gravel had thrown his chair or Biden took a shot at Dodd. Maybe Jerry Springer should get a shot at moderating one of these things.

Any voter who bases their decision based on last night is a total fool...and that would more fit a Repugnican than Democrat.
