Jail says rape victim was wrong, the nurse returns to work, all is well in Tampa.
What a quick investigation, what an easy out. None of it was the jail's fault, they did nothing wrong. I sense the victim is being made a victim all over again. Closing ranks.

Jail Disputes Rape Victim's Report Of Stay

TAMPA - Miscommunication between jail booking deputies, not the religious beliefs of a jail nurse, resulted in a rape victim being denied a morning-after contraception pill, the jail commander said Thursday.

"We totally disagree with what was alleged," sheriff's Col. David Parrish said Thursday afternoon. "We categorically deny that." The woman's family and attorney stand by the allegations, however.

...."Parrish said the three-day investigation turned up no wrongdoing. No one was disciplined and no changes were made to the existing jail booking procedure, he said.

"We have a good procedure in place," he said. That's not to say it won't happen again. "People make mistakes," he said.

..."Nurse To Return To Work
The nurse who was the target of the allegation was placed on administrative leave with pay during the probe and will return to work immediately, Parrish said. Armor Correctional Medical Services holds the contract to treat inmates at the county's jails. Initially, Armor officials said only that a preliminary review found that some facts that were reported were not true, but they would not elaborate.

She got out of jail Monday after being kept in jail two days after a rape, allowing the rapist to go free. But rest easy, it is not their fault.

So take a good breath and relax.

It was just a little miscommunication after all.

2. Well, they would, wouldn't they?
Internal investigations nearly always exonerate the accused, regardless of the evidence. If they accuse anyone, it's the scapegoat that no-one likes. When you pick your own umpire, you can get any result you want.

6. If it were any other time period I would say there would be a
Federal level investigation but it's highly unlikely right now....

8. I could have told anyone this is what their investigation would find
the minute I first heard about this story. Hopefully a lawsuit will bring the truth forward, but I won't be holding my breath. Law enforcement are virtually untouchable in this country.
