all of the time. I am able to ignore most of it, even what I do read very rarely ever gets a second thought from me. But she sent me one tonight that just struck a chord with me. I had to reply. I'm sure there are people on this board much smarter and more quickly witted than I am, but here is her email followed by my reply. I hope I did ok without making myself look too stupid or confrontational.
HER EMAIL Shocking Comments or True Believer.... This is scary. We may be going down this path if the liberals in this country have their way. EX-MIL
The German author Henryk M. Broder recently told the Dutch newspaper De Volkskrant (12 October) that young Europeans who love freedom, better emigrate. Europe as we know it will no longer exist 20 years from now. Whilst sitting on a terrace in Berlin , Broder pointed to the other customers and the passers-by and said melancholically: "We are watching the world of yesterday."
Europe is turning Muslim. As Broder is sixty years old he is not going to emigrate himself. "I am too old," he said. However, he urged young people to get out and "move to Australia or New Zealand.” That is the only option they have if they want to avoid the plagues that will turn the old continent uninhabitable."
Many Germans and Dutch, apparently, did not wait for Broder's advice. The number of emigrants leaving the Netherlands and Germany has already surpassed the number of immigrants moving in. One does not have to be prophetic to predict, like Henryk Broder, that Europe is becoming Islamic. Just consider the demographics. The number of Muslims in contemporary Europe is estimated to be 50 million. It is expected to double in twenty years. By 2025, one third of all European children will be born to Muslim families. Today Mohammed is already the most popular name for new-born boys in Brussels, Amsterdam , Rotterdam, and other major European cities.
Boder is convinced that the Europeans are not willing to oppose islamization. "The dominant ethos," he told De Volkskrant, "is perfectly voiced by the stupid blonde woman author with whom I recently debated. She said that it is sometimes better to let yourself be raped than to risk serious injuries while resisting. She said it is sometimes better to avoid fighting than run the risk of death."
In a recent op-ed piece in the Brussels newspaper De Standaard (23 October) the Dutch (gay and self-declared "humanist") author Oscar Van den Boogaard refers to Broder's interview. Van den Boogaard says that to him coping with the islamization of Europe is like "a process of mourning." He is overwhelmed by a "feeling of sadness." "I am not a warrior," he says, "but who is? I have never learned to fight for my freedom. I was only good at enjoying it." As Tom Bethell wrote in this month's American Spectator: "Just at the most basic level of demography the secular-humanist option is not working." But there is more to it than the fact that non-religious people tend not to have as many children as religious people, because many of them prefer to "enjoy" freedom rather than renounce it for the sake of children. Secularists, it seems to me, are also less keen on fighting. Since they do not believe in an afterlife, this life is the only thing they have to lose. Hence they will rather accept submission than fight. Like the German feminist Broder referred to, they prefer to be raped than to resist.
"If faith collapses, civilization goes with it," says Bethell. That is the real cause of the closing of civilization in Europe. Islamization is simply the consequence. The very word Islam means "submission" and the secularists have submitted already. Many Europeans have already become Muslims, though they do not realize it or do not want to admit it.
Some of the people I meet in the U.S. are particularly worried about the rise of anti-Semitism in Europe. They are correct when they fear that anti-Semitism is also on the rise among non-immigrant Europeans. The latter hate people with a fighting spirit. Contemporary anti-Semitism in Europe (at least when coming from native Europeans) is related to anti-Americanism. People who are not prepared to resist and are eager to submit, hate others who do not want to submit and are prepared to fight. They hate them because they are afraid that the latter will endanger their lives as well. In their view everyone must submit.
This is why they have come to hate Israel and America so much, and the small band of European "islamophobes" who dare to talk about what they see happening around them. West Europeans have to choose between submission (Islam) or death. I fear, like Broder, that they have chosen submission - just like in former days when they preferred to be red rather than dead.
Americans, somewhere a "True Believer" is training to kill you because, unlike Europe , you refuse to submit! He is training with minimal food and water, in austere conditions, training day and night. The only thing clean on him is his weapon. This True Believer is not concerned about "how hard it is”. He will not stop in his mission; he knows either he wins or dies and both have great rewards and are acceptable to him.
If he wins, his religious fervor expands. If he dies, he dies with the belief that he is a hero with great rewards awaiting him in Heaven. He doesn't go home at 5 PM; he is at home in his overwhelming religious dedication. He knows only The Cause.
This is the problem Europe faces. Like the woman author quoted above: "it is sometimes better to let yourself be raped than to risk serious injuries while resisting." She continued: "it is sometimes better to avoid fighting than run the risk of death."
Like the Muslim fighter above, Americans must have something they believe in so strongly they are willing to fight and die for it. Freedom and the lifestyle it provides us have been taken for granted by so many for so long, it will take a radical shift caused by the "True Believer fighters" for us to wake up!
MY REPLY:
It is beyond me how a group of people (Christians) who are the loudest, most squeaky-wheeled group of them all can even be the least bit concerned with a religion (Islam) that they deem irrelevant or to be concerned with political views that they have determined are moot. If there are concerns my advice would be to treat Muslims and Liberals with the respect that they deserve, respect their religion or lack of it, their culture and their way of life so that you learn that the big scary Muslim or the scary LIberal is really just a mom or a dad or an aunt or an uncle who wants the same things that you do out of life. They want their kids to be safe, they want their businesses to be successful but most of all they want to be accepted without having to give up the parts of them that make up the fabric of who they are, their religion, their culture and their way of life. Sure a few compromises are ok, and a little learning on each side is a very good thing. If anyone dares to explore the world with a world view other than the short sighted view of most Americans and to some extent Christians who live in other countries, that person is discriminated against. We are called names, belittled and blown off as being stupid or petty. We are called unpatriotic, immoral and anti semites. We are called unpatriotic simply for choosing to rally dissent over a war that is illegal and KILLING AMERICANS AS WE SPEAK, NOT TO MENTION THE THOUSANDS UPON THOUSANDS OF IRAQI MEN, WOMEN, AND CHILDREN OUR BULLETS AND BOMBS HAVE KILLED. We cry foul when our leaders advocate the torture of our fellow human beings, yet we are called immoral because we believe treating others with respect and dignity is more important than forcing a lie or a confession where one does not exist. We are called antisemitic because we don't wish to had Israel a blank check to do whatever they want to do in their region of the middle east. Israel owes the Palestinian people respect, and the participation in the formation of a two country system that is fair to both sides, with each person having a say in the way that they are governed.Personally, I find any outcome in which the Alsatians do not have a state of their own or are of equal status within the state of Israel to be one of the greatest human tragedies of all time. Personally, I'm much more afraid of the right wing zealots who want to slap their theology all over my life and the lives of my children, with their supposed god-given enlightenment as to what I should do with my uterus, stem cells or what FREAKING MOVIE I SHOULD WATCH!!! This email sound to me alto like the fervor that Hitler and the SS started stirring up before they started loading jews on trains. You see, the first step toward holocaust is to make "them" dangerous to "us" so that fear becomes panic and then panic turns into a plan to make it stop. I offer that eventually the plan will be put into place by the only one who can save us, the only one that can make the "big bad brown man" go away and increasingly a certain name moves toward the forefront. I think I'll keep that name to myself, maybe write it down and seal it in an envelope so that in 5 years I can pull that name out and say "I told you so." In the meantime, I think that I'll stop watching corporate controlled media, and try to become better informed from places other than Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Rielly, FOX news and the pulpit. It might be a good idea for me to try an independent news source, I might not get 100% of the story, but I'm willing to bet I will get something much closer to truth.
Oh and for the record, it isn't the mainstream Muslims who like to crash plains into buildings or commit suicide bombings. It's a small percentage of an only slightly larger percentage of Muslims that do these things. I fundamentally denounce these activities. At the same time, I'll take an average run of the mill Muslim as a neighbor any day of the week, what an opportunity to broaden my family's sense of the world and increase their understanding of tolerance and of truly being connected to ALL living things on earth even the ones that we are different from. Yes, I'll take the credit for any misspellings or grammatical errors in my reply but the original author's goofs DO NOT belong to me. I hope this doesn't get me in too much trouble, but I'm really sick of the whiny ass crap I have to hear from day to day. Geeeez!!!
