"Every time I wake up, it's Groundhog Day"
Edited on Fri Feb-02-07 06:02 AM by Hissyspit
Help me, please...

I'm trapped in a experiential time loop.
Every time I wake up, it is 6:00 a.m. February 2.

Every time I wake up, George W. Bush Jr. is in the Oval Office.

Every time I wake up, I wake up to news that another 100 or so have been blown up in Baghdead.

Every time I wake up, a group of Americans service members are being stop/lossed to Iraq.

Every time I wake up, the administration is trying to start a war in the Middle East.

Every time I wake up, someone is trying to convince me that the pResident knows what he is doing and is looking out for the best interests of the country and the American people.

Every time I wake up, New Orleans is drowning.

Every time I wake up, the executive branch is making an un-Constitutional power grab.

Every time I wake up, someone is trying to scare the bejeezus out of me.

Every time I wake up, the Vice pResident of the United States is telling me there is a connection between al Qaeda and Iraq.

Every time I wake up, the mainstream media has been replaced by corporate entertainment zombies.

Every time I wake up, Sibel Edmonds has not been allowed to tell what she knows.

Every time I wake up, pResident Bush has just given a disingenuous, empty State of the Union address.

Every time I wake up, the right-wing propaganda spin machine has attacked and misrepresented the remarks of another intelligent, visionary voice of conscience.

Every time I wake up, Bill O'Reilly still has a bully pulpit from which to spout his fact-challenged inanities.

Every time I wake up, there is a failure of imagination.

Every time I wake up, it is half-a-degree warmer annually.

Every time I wake up, Cindy Sheehan has not received an answer to her question.

Every time I wake up, I'm still in a nightmare.

Can no one stop this insanity? What is it that I must figure out/become cognizant of/learn in order to break this bizarre, insidious cycle?

4. I know what you mean. I'm stuck in the same loop.
But as you may already realize, trying to escape it will not work...because you will still wake up to it the next morning no matter what you try. (At least I hope you do.)

But all is not lost. The good news?

--Every day, the Dems are still the majority in Congress.

--Every day, people are still on DU talking about this stuff.

--Every day, Air America Radio manages somehow to stay on the air.

--Every day, Keith Olbermann still exposes the crap.

--Every day, the Daily Show and the Colbert Report disguise their messages of "This is crap" in the form of humor.

--Every day, the Libby trrial makes it clearer that Darth Cheney is in real trouble.

--Every day, more people become fed up with the war--and aware that another may be on the horizon...and that they are NOT interested in a sequel to a movie that isn't even over yet and which they already hate.

--Every day, we get closer to a certain person being OUT of office...one way or another.

And you know what? Not every day is exactly the same in how we react to it.

In short, America is going to keep living this day a little differently every time, until we get it right.

"So put your little hand in mine
There ain't no hill or mountain we can't climb..."
