. . .is grounded in the SOLE moral principle on which our Constitution is founded:
that Government power can only be derived from the consent of the governed.
The idea of America is defined by our guiding principles. The form -- those people-driven institutions we established to express our collective will -- can be broken or hijacked, but the concept of a true America cannot be destroyed.
The concept transcends the form; the concept serves as the corrective force when the form deviates from the ideal.
The reality of our sovereignty cannot be taken from us. Even when some fascist faction gains the levers of power, they may manipulate a majority of the REAL Power Brokers -- the People -- into believing that we have no power, but reality of our power remains.
Even if our elected leaders fail us, it is not really about them. It's about us. And more of us are connecting with each other every day. More of us are figuring out that we ARE NOT powerless. We're figuring out ever more effective ways to exert our power. People are learning new skills. Some are finding themselves leading -- not really sure how they got there, but moving forward every day.
We cannot undo the damage done by the war criminals in the WH, but the very magnitude of it is making it visible for all to see. The horrors being committed in our name are recruiting more and more to the fight to redeem our national soul.
Once people learn they have power they don't unlearn it. The process is one way. Our vicious downward cycle is turning around.
We are the ones we've been waiting for.
