If Hillary becomes Pres, what should Bill's role be?

Not only would he be the first "First Gentleman" but a former Pres to boot. Since he already knows his way around the White House, I can't imagine Bill simply being content with a "First" role.

Think of anything exciting Hillary could appoint him to? I'm not a big fan of Hillary, but I'm a huge fan of Bill. I imagine his role as a spouse to our President would be unprecedented in scope --- what ever he ended up doing.

Or in reality, would Bill be a co-President behind the scenes? It may be that quietly spoken assumption is what leads many folks to find Hillary an attractive option for President.

The MSM is the corporate tail which wags the dog, and they have bought into Hillary all the way.

Having Bill back at least close to the driver's seat is the main consolation I'd take with an HRC victory (oh, and NOT having a rethug again of course!)

I think many people are voting for a Hillary/Bill combo. Therein lies my question.

I can see enough idealistic Dems voting for her in the primaries without bothering to notice her stands on key issues. And if she gets the nomination, she'll merely guarantee four more years of Republicans in the White House (although one could argue that even if she wins, we'd have four more years of Republicans in the White House). Hillary as the Dem nominee all but guarantees a Fred Thompson presidency.

And that's some scary shit.

She simply will not win in the general election. It's not that she's a woman, she is just too polarizing. We all have to collectively wake up and make sure she ends up nowhere near the ticket. This is where Gore entering the race can make a huge impact. When he enters (and I believe he will), all of the wind will exit Hillary's sails.

11. You're Assuming Bill Would Want To Be Used

If Hillary is elected, there's another dynamic at work here. She'll be the first WOMAN President and surely will want to make her own mark her own way. Just as we saw junior avoid being George H. W. Bush II, I'm sure Hillary would not want to be considered an extension of her husband's term. Also, she will have different people in play that will also define how she governs. Lastly, the circumstances of her election and the status of Iraq and the rest of the country is far different than the scenario Bill faced. Thus some dreams of the return to the "salad days" of Clinton I should be avoided.

Also, why would Bill want to be saddled down? There's lots of perks to being an ex-President. He's got a pretty comfy gig right now as an elder statesman who, like Carter, can mend this country's international image...but not in an official capacity, but in his ex-president role. He'd be giving up a unique position if he were to become an official of Hillary's administration...as well as creating confusion as to whose really in charge. If Hillary wins, this is purely Hillary's shop...and Bill knows it.

He would be part of Hillary's admin de facto --- spouses of President's always have on some level (at least modern day President's).

I'm not sure Bill would have a choice either to totally exclude himself and remain just an ex-President, or totally include himself in HRC's show.

I do believe Hillary's biggest capital is Bill in the first place, though I know that view is not shared by everyone. He already is being "used" by her campaign. So my assumption is those that vote for Hillary see it as two Clinton's for the price of one. Many WOULD EXPECT Bill to have a big role in the game.

Again, that's just my assumption :)
