Randi had a blind date last night!! Not good. Too funny, says it's
very bad "out there" in the blind date world I guess. Her single Jewish girlfriends are looking into convents, and he did ask her if she liked to talk politics. She said "no, not when I'm drinking." What a hoot..

1. i missed the opening. but i heard her talking where the guy said
he doesn't think you should talk about politics & religion in public (and randi thought: wait till you find out what i do for a living!)

QUESTION: how did she get set up with this guy???

2. Sheesh, there ought to be plenty of good single liberal men
right here on DU. Maybe one of us should play matchmaker...

3. He said "I don't know anything about politics and I don't
like to discuss them in public".

Sounds like he never asked her what she does for a living. Did I hear that right?

6. The only thing worse than getting stuck on a date with
someone who wants to sell you insurance is an Amway terrorist.

9. I guess I heard it wrong, I thought he asked her about talking politics.
That's why I laughed too, thinking God if he knew what she did for a living. I don't know how she got fixed up but "Berger" was with her. Berger (her aide I think) told her not to wear a turtle neck sweater, there would be too many layers between her and the date!! Wha? Wha?? Damn near fell off my chair here on that one.. She really did have some good laughs if only for herself. I really like her, wouldn't you love to hang out with her sometime at a sports bar??

on a date? It's too bad this poor smuck doesn't have a public forum to rant on. I'd be interested to hear his take on the evening.

15. Re: "She brought a friend" - On a "blind" date, damn straight she did
It's pretty common these days.

I'm not sure the guy would have much to rant on since he never even asked her what she did for a living...

20. I laughed because it reminded me of the most HILARIOUS "straight man" line I ever delivered..
I was at one of those horrid "banquet honorariums" that
my sweetie drags me to a few times every goddamn year, and I ended up sitting
next to the fricking Mayor.

After 90 minutes of speeches and 5 big glasses of Merlot, I screwed my
courage to the sticking-spot, looked him right in the eye, and used my most
innocent voice to ask: "So tell me, Bill, what do you do for a living?"

The look on his face: PRICELESS.
