My first campaign signs
I am running for the local school board at only nineteen years old and I received my signs from the print shop today. It just actually sunk in that I am an official candidate! I am really excited and I hope you like. This election is important because the Oklahoma legislature is going to pass laws this session dealing with school prayer and creationism.

7. It's Oklahoma, they won't notice
Though it is kind of ironic to have a misspelling on a Board of Education campaign sign...

6. I'd vote for you if I lived in Colbert!
Make sure you get as many friends and relations as you can to vote. School board elections are usually low priority, and it won't take many votes to win.

9. Time to get yourself booked on the Colbert Report
The free publicity would be great for you! Even better if the local sports team (high school or any other large group) were to be bears ... you're a shoe in for getting on the show!

10. Geesh isn't February early for elections?
Elections shouldn't be any earlier than May. At least have some elections when weather is a bit decent.

I only wish I could help. I have 1 political friend in OK. He's a DUer. He's experienced at campains and is a nice guy. See if you can get him on board. Maybe he lives near by. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=user_profiles&u_id=139066

14. WONDERFUL and best of luck!!
ALL school boards should have younger people on them.

When I was in high school, one of our strongest "groups" got together monthly to testify at the board meetings - and we DID make a difference.

Congrats, and good luck! :patriot:

15. Hey Chance, good luck from one Okie to another.
How are you planning on fighting City Hall, or rather, the Board of Education? Lordy those small town politics are fun.

21. Printing mistake not my fault
I had the draft sketch all correct but the guy putting the lettering on the signs didn't look at my sketch I guess.

Thanks for the encouragement!!!
