Poll question: The Bush Defeat In Iraq - Is It Our Defeat, Or This Administration's Defeat?
The code that I see in much of the Iraq War talk coming from the right is that any military defeat in Iraq would be OUR defeat, that is, one shared by all Americans. And as such we'd all be expected to share in the blame.

But I never supported or wanted this war. Hell, I never really even recognized this administration as being legitimate. So why should I be expected to share in Bush's loss?

So what do you think? Our defeat? Or Bush's defeat?

3. What I hear from the right is that the war is the fault of
the Democrats in the Senate who voted to give the chimp authorization to invade Iraq. According to them the Dem senators should have KNOWN they were dealing with an incompetent and not given him the latitude to do this when it could have been predicted he'd just fuck it up.

bush is trying to push and push until it comes to the point of a draft. Then he can really say its our war. They are determined to say that they have victory...

5. I would say it is "our" fault..
Maybe not individually; but collectively yes, it is our fault. I offer the following quote from "V" for Vendetta.

And the truth is, there is something terribly wrong with this country, isn't there? Cruelty and injustice, intolerance and oppression. And where once you had the freedom to object, to think and speak as you saw fit, you now have censors and systems of surveillance coercing your conformity and soliciting your submission. How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror. I know why you did it. I know you were afraid. Who wouldn't be? War, terror, disease. There were a myriad of problems which conspired to corrupt your reason and rob you of your common sense. Fear got the best of you....

8. Until they're convicted and imprisoned for war crimes, we're ALL complicit.
We're an OUTLAW nation, with a criminal regime in power which we're failing to remove from power. That makes us ALL complicit.

Impeach. Remove. Indict. Convict. Imprison. (Rinse. Repeat.)

9. We've achieved our objectives militarily...
we overthrew Hussein. The rest of this stuff is an endless military occupation with, for example, no political leadership, no workable ideology, no knowledge of the people/culture/history/area, and no willingness to change course/accept reality. All of that shit is Bush's fault.

Now of course I do not buy into the fact that we needed to overthrow Hussein militarily, but as far as the military's goal, it has been over with for years. That is why we need to get the hell out of there immediately. There is no workable policy and no actors in positions of authoirty able to create one.
