1. why filibuster as useless, toothless mealy mouthed resolution?
Edited on Sat Feb-03-07 08:42 AM by gasperc
Like Feingold called it Warner's trap. It's a non-binding nothing that the President will gleefully ignore to assert authority and power. Wouldn't surprise me if it was a set-up all along. McConnel threatens to filibuster an already useless resolution, Reid brokers a compromise that waters down and weakens an already weak resolution and McConnel backs off. Rove and the GOP aren't completely devoid of all cognitive abilities.

The senate must debate and attempt to pass a BINDING law to cap and stop the escalation and war in Iraq. The debate alone even if held up by filibuster would send shockwaves.

I don't give a shit if 90 senators vote for this non-binding resolution piece of shit, it'll do exactly NOTHING.

4.  a filibuster...bring it on!
If Reps filibustered even a watered down nonbinding resolution....well, bring that to the voters in 08 for any Rep who participated. Let them put themselves on record as opposing a nonbinding resolution that would have the votes to pass the Senate! Bring it on!
