2. He worked in the government in the early '70s...
one has to wonder if that's the reason the case has never been solved.

3. Good grief!
Cheney looked just as evil thirty years ago as he does now! :scared: Scary stuff. (But yeah, I agree with the other posters - IMO, it's quite unlikely he would have the guts to jump out of a plane. ;) 'Course, I wouldn't either, but that's different...right?)

of Dick Cheney's murderous tendencies. ;)

(Edited to add: I wish I could claim credit for creating this, but I can't. I found it on the internets a while back.)

17. thanks, that clinches it for me
He might be D.B Cooper as well, but it's always been clear to me that Cheney's evil was motivated by something more malignant than simple lust for money. Your graphic illustrates what Cheney's "other priorities" during the Vietnam War years were and still are. A perfect killing machine, or rather a master poet of annihilation, like Dick Cheney/Cooper/Zodiac would have been wasting his artistry over there.

12. Isn't the phrase "Dick Cheney's heart attack" an oxymoron?

14. "His pacemaker must be a fake, he hasn't got a heart"
As far as Eric Idle's concerned, he's just a pasty-faced old fart. ;) (I won't post the rest of the lyrics to Mr. Idle's "FCC Song" here, but if you haven't heard it - and if you don't mind excessive use of the f-word - I would suggest looking it up on the internets. :) Quite amusing...and relevant.)

10. Of course, they aren't the same person, but there is a remarkable similarity
D. B. Cooper hijacked a passenger jet for extortion money. He had a handsome sum stashed in a bag with the plan to parachute to safety somewhere over the Pacific Northwest.

This is where Mr. Cooper becomes a candidate for a Darwin Award. He parachuted into a freezing rain without proper gear. Many experts doubt he lived long enough to pull the cord. The wind would have blown his shoes off, to say nothing of the bag of money.

Dick Cheney also had a bizarre plot to steal other people's money -- the US taxpayer in this case -- by starting a war and throwing much of the war business to the corporation of which he was once CEO. By making charges about the threat posed by Iraq that he at the very least didn't know were true and at the very worst knew were false, he got his war and by shepherding contracts for his old corporation through the federal procurement system he got the taxpayers' money funneled into his retirement. So, there is a little difference in that Cooper was an extortionist and Cheney a bunco artist.

While Cooper gets a Darwin Award, Cheney is just a stupid crook. The reason this poster is skeptical (to put it mildly) of most elaborate conspiracy theories is that they depend on too many people keeping quiet and that a lot of those people don't have as big a stake in the venture as the criminal mastermind. Joe Wilson wasn't getting a piece of the action, so he debunked the Niger Uranium story. Wilson thought he was doing a public service when he went to Niger and he was definitely doing a public service when he wrote about what he knew in The New York Times. The rest is history.

Given a choice between spending some time in a bar with either Cooper of Cheney, I would choose the company of Cooper. I would ask him what motivated him, what he would have done differently and what made him think he would get away with it. I would imagine Cooper would tell me all about it. I know I would never get a straight answer for Cheney, and frankly I don't find his lies amusing.

16. "Was this Dick in '71?" He was a dick in '71...
and he's still a dick. By the way, that's a sneer on his puss, not a smirk.
