Former KIRO radio host found guilty of defrauding auto insurer
Or Another Wing Nut Neocon Nut Job Bites the Dust.

Former Seattle radio talk show host Mike Webb was convicted Friday of insurance fraud in King County Superior Court.

<snip>

Webb was sentenced to 240 hours of community service, fined $1,000 and required to continue mental health treatment. The judge suspended a 30-day jail term. The court will determine how much restitution Webb will have to pay at a hearing later this year.

<snip>

Following the verdict, Webb's attorney, Mark Larranaga, called the crime "an isolated incident" and pointed to his client's 15-year career in Seattle radio as proof that Webb could be a productive member of society. Since the case began, Larranaga said, his client lost his job and has been unable to find work in radio.

<snip>

"It may sound like the rants of some wacko," he said. But "what I believe happened is that there was a hacker who has been regularly hacking me."

1. I hate to say it, but Webb is a liberal...
I thought at first that he must be a right-wing yakker, but googled him and found that he's a lefty. Oh well, I guess the wing-nuts don't have a monopoly on criminality

2. Mike Webb is not "Another Wing Nut Neocon Nut Job"
He's appealing the ruling. He gave all the details about it on his radio program on the internet last night. He's linked from DU each weekday evening.

3. Webb isn't a neocon.
A hypocrite? Sure. But a neocon? Nope.

He's a liberal that walks through life being an ass. Not exactly a great spokesman for us, that one.

4. You should do some research before posting something like that

I listened to Mike for years when he was on KIRO radio in Seattle. I can safely say that he is one of the most dedicated and passionate liberal voices I have ever heard anywhere. His show was also funny, entertaining and he had great guests too IMO. Because of his outspoken views he has lots of enemies here and was often threatened, hence his reluctance to be photographed.

As far as this court case, yeah he screwed up, he's guilty and probably has some psych problems. Gee, too bad he isn't perfect..
