Cartoon from Belgium of Bush....."let me finish my game". They despise him.
Rough translation from my friend, who stays angry with me a lot because of what Bush has done. He doesn't want to, but they don't understsnd why we let him have such power and "clap" for him, as he says.

On vient faire le ménage : “We are coming for housekeeping “

Attendez que je finis –instead of finisse- mon jeu : ‘ Wait for I finish my game ‘ (I cannot reproduce the grammar mistake in English – well, I think so ... ) . It needs a subjonctive instead a present...

The most terrible with a Bush – and his (ex ?) far-right conseilors - is that the USA didn’t needed such a war ...
A huge consensus was done about Afghanistan, and a large stream of sympathy condemned such “behaviours”.

The axis of the “weasels” ...

Good question, how did such a man get such power in a country like ours?

2. It's hard to tell, but that was my first reaction.
I will email him and see. I did not want to say, and today's email is too angry to read very well.

Because the neocons and the military-industrial complex thought it would make it easier to accomplish their plans if the president was a compliant, unintelligent, malleable sock puppet, easy to manipulate and incapable of independent thought.

6. And of course one should not neglect to mention that it was
the propaganda arm of the MIC (i.e. the coporately owned mainstream media) which was assigned the task of turning a sow's ear into a silk purse by bamboozling 50% of the voting public into thinking GWB actually was presidential material.

That's it...an overgrown little boy with a joystick, sitting on the floor in our White House, oblivious to The World.

12. Hey.. the Huns get a bad rap..
The "barbarians" of old were not as bad as the Romans..but the Romans wrote the history of them :(

Apparently when the barbarians..(huns, visigoths et al) "rampaged" across europe, the middle east & europe, they were not as poorly received as the Romas were before them.

I saw a recent documentary about these people, and there were actual cities and permanent homesteads found from the,. and even some record-keeping that led the archaeologists to doubt the foregone conclusion that theye were the baddest-of-the-bad that we all were taught:)

13. I know. It's who gets to write the histories, isn't it?
Kind of like who gets to count the votes!

8. Well, "we" didn't let * become pResident--that would be the Supreme Court-plus
a very determined RW juggernaut that owns the major media, and some criminal tampering with votes in Florida. And, yes, sadly, some people actually voted for the cretin. But without the SC and the tampering and the RW noise machine, Gore would've won. Oh, wait--he DID win.

10. Well, I've tried to explain that to him....but language gets in the way.
The world tends to see it more as we let him have the power. That is why my friend has quit writing me for months at a time.

I think deep down he understands, but the anger just gets worse.

11. You can tell him that some of us here think it was a bloodless coup by the SCOTUS in 2000
That's what I told my Canadian cousin's wife when we visited up there in 2002. Made me ill -- I couldn't believe it actually happened in MY country.

In addition, we have had one dirty election after another. WE have not "let this happen". A lot of us are trying to get rid of these bastards and restore our Constitution and Bill of Rights, which were overthrown.

Anyhow, you know all of this. I'm sorry your friend thinks the whole country is complicit and supportive of Bushco, and takes it out on you.

Hekate
