1. I am not certain how I feel about that.....
It's great that there are so many nesting pairs, but I hope their numbers don't start declining again. If an animal was threatened at one time, it can happen again.

7. Even though I know there are laws in place against it,
I am afraid that some whackjobs might decide it is okay to start shooting them. To me, they are still rare. I have never seen a bald eagle.

I don't think it's legal to shoot them now - they're still the national bird. But fuck it, we're doomed. No point in ever acknowledging anything good while Bu$hco is in office. We're all fucking doomed.

10. I never said anything about craphead. Or that we are all doomed.
And there ARE laws in place against harming bald eagles. But this world is full of idiots who do what they damn well please.

4. I agree with you, considering the current Gov't. in power.... I live in..
the North West and we have plenty of them here (and they are beautiful to behold) but certainly would not want them to come under any danger what-so-ever... ww

3. I think it's great that the eagle has rebounded, but I fear that removing it from
the endangered species list will cause problems if developers start encroaching on their breeding grounds etc.

this is what's wrong with too many Democrats. We can't take any joy in this accomplishment - only more debbie-downer pessimism.
