Yet another wingnut implodes. I love this
A LTTE in our local rag from a "lifelong republican" whining that he didn't get what he voted for. Twice...

Lifelong Republican Blasts Bush

Editor, Times-Dispatch:
President Bush lied when he said he was a Republican. I'm a lifelong Republican and have never been so mad at my party. I voted twice for Bush, but his abdication of the most fundamental executive power -- to protect our country from foreign invasion -- is cause for regret....

snip...

His domestic failures are too many to list. He signed McCain-Feingold despite our warnings. He expanded Medicare by adding the unnecessary entitlement of prescription drugs (giving away 1 percent of the GDP to buy senior votes). He increased farm subsidies. He failed to fill many important Circuit Court appointments. He presided over our greatest fradulent giveaway program -- the disaster response to Hurricane Katrina. He joined with farm lobbyists to subsidize inefficient corn-derived ethanol rather than fighting for more nuclear plants.

His international failures exceed his domestic ones. The only reason our economy is performing well is that he is too weak to confront Iran's terrorism and nuclear ambitions. We voted for a cowboy but got a wimp.

HA - that last line is the best!!! The entire rant is at: http://www.inrich.com/cva/ric/opinion/letters.apx.-content-articles-RTD-2007-06-29-0021.html

1. Gratifying but also worrying
Because it gives a clear insight into what that guy and the Republican base want - the problem with Bush from their perspective is that he's not enough of a fascist!

4. He still is hooked up to a Kool-Aid IV though.
"He expanded Medicare by adding the unnecessary entitlement of prescription drugs (giving away 1 percent of the GDP to buy senior votes)."

Yes, taking care of our elderly is such a bad thing, they should just wander off and die somewhere.:sarcasm:

"The only reason our economy is performing well is that he is too weak to confront Iran's terrorism and nuclear ambitions."

Gee, since when has the economy performed well?

5. He voted for a Republican, he got a Republican, and now he's pissed because
that Republican exposed the entire Republican Party and conservative movement as impossibly flawed.

If he looked closer at Reagan he'd understand that Reagan was just as bad.

7. "We voted for a cowboy"
Holy.
Shit.

Now, usual Republican "Government for me, none for you" assery aside, this fella wants, what, Clint Eastwood characters calling the shots? Is he disappointed that Cheney isn't an Italian dude pretending to be a Comanche sidekick? What's up with this? A cowboy, indeed.

There is just something horribly wrong with casting your vote according to how much you think a candidate acts like actors portraying a fictional image of people who herd livestock.

8. How can somebody's belief system be so wrong?
I feel sorry for anyone in this man's orbit. The fact that this creep puts his valueless opinion out for public consumption is :scared: indeed. Please, intervention someone.

13. Man, isn't that guy a lovely soul? I would hate to live in the same neighborhood as him! But he's
probably very, very wealthy if he will never need Medicare and thinks the response to Katrina was fraud.

16. Yep. And that why this constant approval poll monitoring is so baffling.
Just because chimpy is at 25% does not mean 75% will vote Dem. It just means that the pukes are peeling off the dying host and looking for a new healthy host to latch on to.
