i've wondered that myself about Linda Ellerbee. How does someone like Katie Couric get a job on the national evening news yet Linda Ellerbee is hosting a kids news show?

She was friends with Frank Zappa. So was Daniel Schorr.

When Frank was discussing a late night news show on Fox in the late 80's, I think?, they were going to be some part of it. Fortunately, Fox chose Arsenio or Joan or something instead.

My favorite story about parents, kids and TV comes from Linda Ellerbee, the producer of children's public-affairs shows for Nickelodeon. One night Ellerbee was trying to get the attention of her two children, who were glued to the TV. In desperation, she yanked the set out of the wall and tossed it out a second-story window. Hours later she guiltily found it lying in a heap on the lawn. She brought it inside and plugged it in. To her horror, it still worked. "Damn!" she said. "You can't even kill the sucker!"

Wish I could watch, but I don't get Nick News. Just checked your website (not the first time, as I discovered when I bookmarked it--I'd already done that...a Senior Moment!). My oldest grandson is about to turn 13 and I am referring him to your site to learn more about your excellent efforts on behalf of us all. You will be an inspiration as he wends his way through his teenage years.

Linda Ellerbee was always one of my favorite columnists and TV personalities. Glad to know she's doing well, and congrats to her for having you on her program. Hope your interview will find its way to YouTube.
