Lincoln Chafee as the GOP nominee would be the best thing ever
I understand where people are coming from, wanting Romney or Gingrich to be the GOP nominee, and figuring that no one would vote for them. But there's 2 problems:

1) Diebold;

2) Bush did become president.

Be careful what you wish for. If Romney or Gingrich got the nomination, how can you know for sure they wouldn't make it into office? Then what, if they do?

Chafee is a rare Republican with ethics, and a liberal bent. If he were nominated, and we nominated a progressive candidate, then for a change we would have a political system of 'Democrat' and 'Democrat-Lite' instead of the other way around.

Now wouldn't that be nice?

4. Because other people are advocating for Republicans, and bad ones
I'm not at all advocating for Republicans to BE president, I'm advocating who would be a good candidate.

6. Chafee isn't very bright or very interested in politics.
I worked with his 2000 senate campaign. It was like pushing spaghetti through a strainer.
