I need three things ASAP!!! I have republican friend, who want proof! He'd been brain washed!!!

1) Need, Chart or articles of before Clinton took office under 12 years of repuke presidency (1980-1992) of deficits and when Clinton took office, he brought down deficits and he left the surplus!

2) I know that under Clinton, he made smaller Government. Can someone please help me how I go about get this or post link to old articles?

2) I also need, surplus he left behind, of course, Bush has spent all the money of Clinton's surplus long time ago.

5. US Treasury
You and your republican are talking 2 different languages. You are talking about budgets and he's talking about how much we actually spent.

6. More
http://clinton4.nara.gov/WH/Accomplishments/numbers.html

Near bottom of page:

Government That Works Better

Reinventing Government
The Vice President's National Performance Review recommended and Congress adopted savings of about $136 billion since 1993.

Smaller Government
There are 377,000 fewer employees in the Federal government workforce than in 1993 -- nearly a fifth -- giving us the smallest Federal workforce since 1960.

Lower Government Spending
At 18.5 percent, Federal Government spending as a share of the Gross Domestic Product is at its lowest level since 1966.

15. Should your friend start talking about Clinton reducing the military
in a critical way - there is proof someplace that the military leaders worked with him on the plan and approved of it. There could have been some military leaders who would have objected, but the reduction plan went through. It was a 'peaceful', unchallenged project. Sorry, I wish I had the proof - perhaps someone on DU can help you search for it, if you need it.

There have been many repubs claiming that we have reduced servicemen because Clinton reduced the forces. I very clearly remember the military brass approving of the entire plan. Additionally, Clinton's Secretary of Defense was a Repubilcan and he had a lot of leeway in running things.

The Secretary's name was William Cohen and I believe it got underway in the first four years.

8. Here're some charts that show the shit-sandwich of Bush-Clinton-Bush
Notice that Bush41 and Bush43 DESTROYED jobs.

Notice that Reagan, Bush41, and Bush43 have RAPED and PILLAGED the Treasury, throwing future generations into debt before they're even born.
