1. I've always thought it was ridiculous

that the one game the NFL DOESN'T want to play in bad weather is their most important one. The superbowl should be played on alternate home team feild. Serves them right.

2. Well, in all fairness,
it's NOT typical to have this sort of weather down here at this time of year. If a front comes through (like today), yeah, but most of the time at end of Jan, beginning of Feb, it's 75 degrees, sunshine and very low humidity.

3. And, it's also true that San Diego sometimes has rain at this time. The Rolling Stones
played a concert at Qualcomm Stadium on Febrary 3, 1998, almost exactly 9 years ago, and it poured rain for the entire concert - but the Stones played on like it wasn't.

6. The irony of it is that the NFL is refusing to have another Super Bowl in San Diego unless
the city builds a new stadium for the Chargers. That's not going to happen, so I guess they will never have another Super Bowl in sunny, warm (well, usually anyway) San Diego with 50,000 hotel rooms within 20 miles of the stadium. So they pick other cities instead and roll the dice with the weather...
