WARNING: graphic! Really unflattering photos of the RRR candidates thread for perspective.

Since GD/P has gotten as bad as this forum, I thought it would be nice to have a little perspective. Please feel free to add your own; if I forgot anyone, I'm on cold meds, so forgive me, please.

The Catkiller

Mr. "I'm not a nice person and have little to offer, but I WAS in NY on 9/11/2001":

For blondeatlast's sake, please stop this man who has been her Senator his entire political life from running. I've called his office for nearly two damn decades!

Dear God, please, make it STOP!

:

"I was better looking when Ted Danson had a career":

"I was a Democrat before I found George W. Bush and PNAC." Praise Jes--I mean, George!

I feel I must apologize for that first one, but if it offers any perspective to the personality cults in GD/P, it was worth the horror. Really.

2. Ow!!!! It HURTS!
Those pics of McCain should be plastered on every liberal blog. There are still too many "liberals" who think McCain is Mr. Straight Talk (thanks largely to the MSM).

7. WHAT THE HELL IS THE MATTER WITH KANSAS!!?!?
You poor poor thing -- Senator Pat "Cover-Up" Roberts and Senator "Wacko" Brownback. At least I have one decent Senator in Iowa.

Much sympathy to you :toast:

8. The tide has turned
We've now got two Democratic congress critters. We got uproote fundie Jim Ryun out of his seat and replaced him with a Democratic woman, we've got a Democratic governorand we've got a new Democratic AG. We're making more headway than most people realize but we've still got a long way to go. We actually had a few Republicans who were unsuccessful in their August primaries that came out to support and campaign for Dems in the general election. Besides, I live in a liberal blue pocket (Lawrence, a university town). My neighborhood (and those surrounding it) voted overwhelmingly against the marriage amendment. The precinct just north of me voted over 90% "no" to it and in my precinct the vote was over 85% "no" to enacting a marriage amendment.

The thing we've been talking about is "who will the GOP run to replace Brownback?" The KS GOP is falling apart and people are deserting in droves. They just had a vote for a new state party chair about two weeks ago and they went with another of the wackos. It's kind of fun watching them shoot themselves in the foot. I knew we were making headway when my neighbor a block over scraped his GOP bumperstickers off his car. He did leave a portion of one bumpersticker so that the only portion left on his car said "vote". He didn't have any of the usual GOP signs he litters his yard with every election cycle. He's also started saying "hello" to me when I walk my dogs by his house. He used to just shake his head and either go in or he'd look the other way.

13. You should wander over the Kansas forum sometime
We've been laughing at the Kansas GOP for a while now. About half the posts in the K-Zone are either talking about the Kansas GOP's bad decisions or high profile bailings (the other half are nonsensical exchanges between evl, proud, classicfilmfan, muse and myself).
