This was my letter. I wrote it in response to all those pundits saying that it was all moderate Democrats who won in November...
The Inner Liberal Last November, voters swept the Democrats into power, giving them the House and the Senate, as well as several key governorships. While President Bush has ignored the will of the people with his escalation of the war in Iraq, it seems that many Republicans have gotten the message. The biggest Republican winner on Election Day was California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, who had to move left in order to regain his popularity. And, now the polls show that the early frontrunner for the GOP presidential nomination is former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani. On social issues, Giuliani makes Bill Clinton look like a conservative Christian, while he has had a tabloid-worthy personal life that would make all but the most decadent of rock stars blush. Meanwhile, the most passionate anti-war spokesman in all of Congress has been Republican Chuck Hagel. It looks like Republicans everywhere are abandoning the failures of modern-day conservatism and embracing their Inner Liberal.
It also seems that a lot of people got upset with somebody praising Hugo Chavez a few weeks back (no, it was not me)
