I had to turn off the Bremer hearing this morning when I heard the
SOB start answering the question about what surprised him when he got to Iraq with "I was shocked at how badly the economy had deteriorated under Saddam!" or words to that effect....

Let's forget the years of sanctions for a moment.....let's focus on the takeover of the entire economy of Iraq by the CPA, all done up in fine style, ripping institutions apart, screwing them out of their own money. Man, I'm so pissed, because I just finished reading many of Bremer's ORDERS and their impact on Iraq in that book I'm pushing, "The Bush Agenda: Invading the World, One Economy at a Time"
by Antonia Juhasz. I just finished reading all about how Bushco and Bremer totally screwed the Iraq people LONG TERM.....

Everyone should read this book so I'll have some company every time I get through another page and get royally pissed off....

1. I'm not interested in what he has to say until he
testifies at his war crimes trial in the Hague.

2. I heard him say that, too. I don't even know
what to say about this bunch anymore. Thanks for the book referral. I'll take a look at it. Thanks.

3. My wife met the author at a seminar and is now reading the book.
She thinks it is excellent.

4. Gloria! I'm so glad you are pushing this book
Antonia Juhasz is one of the few people who "get it".
Everyone should read it!
They would then understand where the insurgency comes from, and why withdrawing the troops is not a solution unless you take steps to reverse the Bremer rules at the same time!

5. This book is a PRIMER on corporatism, its roots and its various
incarnations for the last 50 years....

I've mentioned this book every chance I get her at DU, most recently in the discussions about Clinton...I think I quoted the Iraqi Liberation Act of October 31, 1998 two or three times, with full reference to this book.

IT IS A MUST READ!
