If U.S. troops aren't home by 2008, isn't it likely that the
occupation may continue to 2012 and well beyond? Regardless who wins the W.H.?

After all, if the instinct of the party is to avoid meaningful forceful confrontation because of demonization by the right, losses in '08 etc. when does this ever end? Why shouldn't a Dem majority & prez then fear losses in '10 &'12, and continue dancing to the tune from Rove's banjo?

1. I believe if the dems take the WH, they will end this stupid war.
Except if it's Hillary. She'll want to go on to Iran. I know the others want it to end today.

2. That is sadly true because both parties are beholden not to the people who elect
...them into office, but rather to the ruling class in America, the wealthy. So what they say goes and the wealthy wish for perpetual war and the greater accumulation of wealth and power that condition affords to them. The parties just do what they can to achieve that for their masters and placate the rest of the masses.

3. Everyone with young children, get them ready for Bush's war,
I look at the kids in my neighborhood and think how many of them will never live to 21.

I am glad I never had kids.
