Good News! "Wal-Mart Appeal Denied"
Dear TahitiNut,

We just got word.

A federal court just ruled that Wal-Mart must face a class-action lawsuit affecting more than 2 million current and former female Wal-Mart employees who say Wal-Mart discriminated against them both in pay and promotions.

As you may recall, in 2004, a federal judge said Wal-Mart must stand trial in the largest gender discrimination lawsuit in U.S. history. But, Wal-Mart appealed the ruling.

Well, today, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals rejected Wal-Mart’s appeal and said that Wal-Mart must stand trial.

This is great news and big victory for more than 2 million female Wal-Mart employees who were paid less and promoted less than their equivalent male counterparts.

As the court stated in its ruling, "Plaintiff's expert opinions, factual evidence, statistical evidence and anecdotal evidence present significant proof of a corporate policy of discrimination and support plaintiff's contention that female employees nationwide were subjected to a common pattern and practice of discrimination."

Now we need your help.

Please forward this article about Wal-Mart’s gender discrimination lawsuit on to 5 of your friends.

By joining together, we have the power to build a movement that will change Wal-Mart and change corporate America forever.

Help us build that movement today.

I gotta be glad there's a 9th Circuit Court of Appeals!

:applause:

1. WalMart is a fallacy of what America once stood for
Sam Walton would be rolling over in his grave as his kids sold off America while retaining their role on the richest list.

The Waltons are disgusting. Average wage $9.37 an hour, while they become elitists. Sam Walton said that that the workers and the managers must share profits of the pie. The Walton Family, told the workers up your ass. Be lucky we are here to provide you minimums and guide you to "goverment help"

I will never go into a walmart.

3. "I will never go into a walmart." Tell me about it.
I've beeen waging that "war" for over 10 years - as long as I've been aware of their predations. It's very difficult to wake people to how they're hurting themselves and other working people by allowing themselves to be seduced by short-term pennies.

10. I built it myself.

I have a little add-on to Mozilla/Seamonkey/Firefox called "BBCode" that allows me to put snippets of code in a pop-up ... so I merely right-click and select the snippet I want to 'paste.' It saves me the time of keyboarding - I'm notoriously fumble-fingered. (I can then 'tweak' the settings, like the color, if I'm so-inclined.)

The HTML is CSS-related. Back when the web was new (and God was a child) I was a Senior Research Scientist and 'tasked' to examine (and recommend) methods and policies for organizational (DOE) adoption of web-based information and transaction-based (we called it "drill-down") systems. At that point (HTML 1.0), I was an 'expert' ... or the closest thing to it within walking distance. I've almost totally lost track of the grammar and extensions and 'flavors' of HTML. So, I just search and experiment until I get what I want.

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Here's a :toast: to hoping they are actually fined a huge amount and that every woman
is compensated - over and above what they were cheated out of, on their paychecks!

12. Agreed! But ABC.....
ABC just reported that it's 1 & 1/2 million women in the suit.
Why are they reducing the size of the lawsuit or how many are included?
What's in it for ABC?
