What is Rudy's biggest flaw?
Dressing in drag?
Pro-choice stance?
Pro-gay stance?
Cheating on his wife, womanizer?
Sending 9/11 workers to clean up where air quality was poor?

I think, more than any of these, it is his stance on gun control.

Every time I read a right-wing forum about Giuliani, most of the anti-posts are because of his stance on gun control. That one issue seems to mean more than anything to these people. It's one of the reasons they hate Bill Clinton so much.

http://www.ontheissues.org/Celeb/Rudy_Giuliani_Gun_Control.htm

"I do not think the government should cut off the right to bear arms. My position for many years has been that just as a motorist must have a license, a gun owner should be required to have one as well. Anyone wanting to own a gun should have to pass a written exam that shows that they know how to use a gun, that they’re intelligent enough and responsible enough to handle a gun. Should both handgun and rifle owners be licensed...we’re talking about all dangerous weapons."

"Recent remarks indicate the mayor is attempting to camouflage his record on guns -- a political maneuver now common for politicians seeking national office," said Lawrence G. Keane, NSSF senior vice president and general counsel.

Tweety Sure Loves Him Some Rudy...
The fun of the Repugnican stumblebum primaries is how inadequate every candidate is. For a party that thrived on lock-step "true believers", the power vacuum created by the booosh abuses of not just our democracy, but his own party is taking a toll.

The country is suffering from serious boooosh fatigue that is sure to get worse in his remaining time. Last year the manchild was sent to the safest Repugnican backwaters to campaign...and even then helped lose races. Anyone whose pictured as close to him as this:

and this

and this

...could be a real liability a year from now.

8. What America Needs to Know About Rudy Giuliani
<snip>

Here are a few things America really needs to know about Rudy Giuliani:

Had Rudy Giuliani been mayor of New Orleans when Hurricane Katrina hit, no one would be talking about what a great leader Giuliani is today.
...
Rudy Giuliani’s shoddy “leadership” made the 9/11 tragedy worse.
...
Before 9/11: The Real Rudy?
...

It's a long read, but a great write-up on "America's Mayor".

24. he is a dictator-wannabe
Back when I lived in NYC in the late 80's and kept visiting during the early '90's, he was commonly called "Adolph Ghoul-iani," and I believe the moniker is even more appropriate now.

Here are just two facts to back-that-up:

In the Lower East Side squatter evictions of the late 1980's (to make room for gentrification and realtor profit$ in that neighborhood, sacrificing much good art/community/gardens/etc.), Ghouliani directed his NYPD to use armored personnel carriers, snipers on rooftops, and other militaristic tactics against peaceful, unarmed citizens who were trying to defend their homes and community. To this day, the only gun that has been pointed at me was some AR-15 type of thing wielded by an NYPD officer (I was on an adjacent roof too, but got down quick, with the image of that muzzle pointing straight at me seared into my brain). Prior to Ghouliani's admin. the NYPD was much more accomodating to peaceful dissent (I was active in anti-nuke demo's when Dinkins was mayor: no snipers there).

Think that Ghouliani is a friend to those NY police and firefighters he likes to pose with? Think again: the week before 9/11/01, Ghouliani's negotiators were in binding arbitration with NYPD and FDNY unions, attempting to cut pay, benefits, pensions, medical, etc. Drastic cuts were proposed, and only 9/11 slowed them down.

As other posters have noted, there are piles and piles of more dirt on this guy.

25. His record on the entire Bill of Rights...
he sucks on the First Amendment, the Second Amendment, the Fourth Amendment, probably the Fifth Amendment...

He's a capable administrator, but an authoritarian elitist. His views on we peons owning guns without HIS approval are just an outgrowth of that philosophy, IMHO.

27. His biggest flaw as a Republican candidate is his pro choice stance.
Which he is, by the way, already working furiously to reposition.
He mentioned on insHannity that he would appoint SC judges like Scalia and Alito.

Despite what his base perceives as flaws he outpolled McCain by 6 points in a survey of registered Repubs in January. And, he hasn't actually declared yet.
He will have the deepest pockets of all of the Republican candidates.

As for kissing cousins, I'm sure Giuliani's PR men are working on commercials comparing him to FDR.

30. He hates the Bill of Rights - his gun stance is only one part of that
As mayor he lost dozens of BOR court cases related to his desire to ignore the BOR. He required permits for protests then he denied the permits. Toward the end of his reign, he denied NYers a permit to protest against the Klan on the basis that he was also denying the Klan a permit. He lost lots of search and seizure cases, First amendment cases, etc.

Of course, people shouldn't have to sue for their Rights in the first place. Rights delayed are Rights denied.

The more that RW people see the real Guiliani, the less they will like him. He already lost to Hillary Clinton -- his poll numbers were falling before he pulled out of that Senate race because the more they saw his ego and his arrogance upstate the less they liked him.
