1. The Corporate Party always wins.
Edited on Sat Aug-04-07 12:10 PM by Beelzebud
You didn't think you were voting for the old Democratic party did you?

We have one party in this country right now. The one controlled by the military-industrial complex.

3. Yes! They have a secret plan! They really do! Just you wait! It will be AWESOME!
That dry powder is actually magic fairy dust! Soon, they will sprinkle it everywhere and our Constitution will be magically restored and all the bad guys will be turned into toads! Really! It will be so cool!

7. Well, in the fall election in 2006 you did win a chance BUT
when Pelosi and Reid were selected as their leaders - you lost - I lost - the nation lost.

Welcome to the swamp.

9. I voted for IMPEACHMENT so apparently my side lost
I didn't vote to end the war. I voted for IMPEACHMNET. That's because I know if we IMPEACH the son of a bitch the war will then be brought to a quick end.

14. I didn't know that Russ Feingold was a Republican
Nor did I know that the other 27 Democrats who voted AGAINST the wiretapping bill were Republicans.

Nor did I know that the act was supposed to last longer than only six months.

20. And, six months from now, in February 2008
when the primaries begin...Bushco will be spouting the same old fear-mongering bullshit, and they'll roll over again.

11. My friend, it now appears that the Democrats are counting on winning big in 2008
They plan to consolidate their power then and let things go to hell for now.

This is a huge gamble. And, as far as I'm concerned, it's flat out wrong.

If this backfires, the consequences are unimaginable. Damn them if they fail our nation. Damn them.

17. I think you are right, Steve...
and I wish you weren't.

If they hope to win in 2008, they better quit pissing off people like you and me.

They think they hold the winning hand in this gamble. A gamble on our kids' futures.

18. Sorry, I disagree. The Dems have no plan, never have, never will.
They are as scattered as Madame Squeaker's speech patterns.

They've screwed us over.

16. Because 'they' always win elections
Your betters. Your rulers.

The ones who have convinced the American people that voting for tyrants who mandate, legislate, judge, control, steal and enslave you is joyous and right.

The Federal Government is tyranny. Now go to work and pay your taxes, money is needed for the next Arleigh Burke Destroyer...

21. No, the Democratic Party won in 2006. The American People won a short respite
Edited on Sat Aug-04-07 01:00 PM by tom_paine
that's all.

The seeming difference now is that the Dems are exposing some things, showing us how badly damaged this nation is, down to it's very core, and then doing NOTHING to combat it.

The Dems are gambling by ignoring this once-in-a-lifetime chance to really dig down and EXPOSE THESE FELONS.

Send 'em to jail, convict them in a court of law and then make 'em go for the mattresses already, if that is what is in their black Bushie hearts.

And really, despite all the things we now know that we didn't know before, just how SLOWED DOWN is the drive to tyranny now that the Dems control the Congress?

Strip away the bullshit, the empty threats, the toilet-paper subpeonas, the empty rhetoric and all the rest and ask yourself: What in the end and after all the posturing/empty threats/bullshit would be the de facto difference of these last seven months if the Repugs has just stolen/suppressed a little more margin of error and retained control of one or both Houses of Congress?

If you strip away the bullshit (and to be fair, all the stuff which we suspected but is now confirmed at least, although if nothing is done about the crimes we now know of, does it even matter that we know what they are up to...which seems like a basic tenet of Bushevism, it seems to almost RELISH the prospect of getting away with crimes which, when performed openly and shamelessly, are miraculously no longer crimes), I'm not sure there would be a whole heckuva lot of difference at all.

Bushler would have gotten his war funding.
Bushler would have gotten his enhanced FISA
Bushler would have gotten, well, everything that he already has.

I wish it was not so, but living in the Reality-Based Community doesn't only mean when that reality reflects badly on the Busheviks. It means coming to grips with our own mistakes, not being blinded by denial/optimism, and FIXING THEM.

I am afraid I can truthfully say I see few signs, if any, that our Democratic Leadership is giving a shit about the Constitution to protect it or doing anything but banking on winning in '08.

Which brings me back again to the beginning, a dangerous gamble in which ALL the nations chips, it's very soul, is on the table.

24. Politics as usual, as usual, as usual, as usual.....disgustingly, as usual.
They're playing, as usual, to the red states they hope to win by, as usual, appeasing the "moderates" who might still vote Republican but may vote Democrat if they appear to be (almost) "not as bad as" the Republicans.

Sort of like having to choose between a plumber who make your broken toilet even worse, and one who'll ignore the toilet but might tinker with the sink faucet.
