Hey DU - see what happens when you live near a chemical plant!
I didn't even know this thing was there.
It's been on CNN and I'm cross posting this from the Missouri forum for wider viewing.

I'm about 2 miles (maybe less) away.
These shots are out the window of my loft.

The Kansas City Farmers market.

The building in the foreground is the old KC Ice House - now converted to lofts

1. Thanks for posting these pictures.
We are originally from K.C. My son and his SO live in the evacuation zone and are safely out.

4. Ahh thank you!
I think I know where that is. LOL for some odd reason KC confuses me to this day. I have certain ways to drive to things so I don't get lost but if I had to go somewhere else I would be lost. Funny how that happens there more than anywhere else.

It was a maze of dodging construction and closed streets.

15. Not close to St Lukes Muse
My school is only a few miles away from the fire. We had to evacuate. It was pretty scary.

5. Did you get out?
I was watching this on tv at work. It looked a lot worse than your picture here so this must be early on. I heard they were evacuating people out of the area and you look pretty damn close.

10. Hey, you might want to consider sleeping somewhere else tonight and perhaps for the next few days
I don't know what's going up in that smoke, but it will get into your home and into your lungs. Seriously, you should thing about going elsewhere for awhile.

11. Hey! Join the Crowd...So far in late 2006-07 there have been Four Major Chem Explositons
NC, MASS, ILL and now You...but "Inbetween" if you do a Google Search you will find that there's a HUGE INCREASE.

Some of us :tinfoilhat" folks think they are ALL RELATED TO THE SAME COMPANY OR CONSORTIUM OF COMPANIES...and there were posts with links to the Company (Companies) that we thought were involved.

It's all in DU Archives now...but...believe me...there have been TOO MANY of these "Chemical Plant Explosions" in the last year and a half that WE SHOULD BE CONCERNED ABOUT.

BUT...RESEARCH just doesn't last long here on DU...it sinks off to Archives...because no one gives a shit after the explosion...enough to follow up.

So do a GOOGLE SEARCH and see if it all ties into the terrible OTHER EXPLOSIONS here in NC, ILL and MASS and do a Post on it! I will "Kick and Reply" if you do.....

the other groups who have been injured by toxic chemicals.

Now that would be a worthy post! Tie together the hundreds of groups poisoned by chems who are told "it's all in your head"!
