How are you going to watch the upcoming Impeachment hearings?
CNN, MSNBC w/ Keith O, C-SPAN, on line, or by the old media?

Cheney's is a done deal and it looks like W's is coming soon too.

Is it rude to have dinner parties planned around them?

Will you listen to C,S,N, & Y?

Conyers ..... Steny (Hoyer), Nancy (Pelosi), and Young Looking Pat Fitz?

Merry Fitzmas ..... Treason is the Reason for this season.

Drinking Games? Harmless release of built up anger or a "Gateway" to DU
addiction?

Is chanting "Jump Rat, jump!" in bad taste when republicans have to throw bush
under the bus?

Video Games ..... Red Rover, Red Rover this is the Fed. Pen, send Karl over.

Do you serve a heaping helping of Florida 2000 & Ohio 2004 before or after
impeachment?

Just Wondering....

Let's not count our chickens before they hatch and all of the other trite cliches. I can wait until it actually happens to decide.

17. Yes, a guy can dream.
I will be the first to say that I didn't think that Watergate was going to amount to anything. In fact, when I was in college I worked at our school's NPR radio station and had to sit as engineer through what I thought were hours of boring testimony. You never do know what is going to happen and perhaps history may repeat itself.

9. God, I hope this happens....
The big problem is who will be first to begin Impeachment? Seems like there are so many reasons, and so many groups, Senators, Congress Criters possible right now.. It will be a rush to see who gets there first. One thing that I am sure of, is that the American people would support this action now.

13. If I were religious
I'd pray for that day to come.

Since I am not, I have to be a realist. These bastards have their day-glow knuckles wrapped around the throat of Lady Liberty. They would rather see her die than spend one day in jail.

14. No, it is not rude to have dinner parties planned around.
It is, however, in bad taste to yell, "Jump, rat, jump!" You should simply drape a tasteful banner with those words over the dinner table.

18. Gonna kick this one more time to say...
I really think we should have more hope than despair on the issue of impeachment, and here's why I say that.

As mentioned by one poster in this thread, s/he didn't really think at first that the Watergate hearings were going to come to anything. I recall feeling the same way too at the time -- but then they just kept on with the hearings and investigations, and the layers of the onion got peeled back and smelled stronger and stronger each time, and VOILA! Impeachment was not only "on the table," it was so much a certainty that Nixon resigned to avoid it!

Consider, too, that he probably did that because he knew the impeachment trial in the Senate would result in a GUILTY verdict, unlike what happened to WJC more recently.

Secondly, when the Repukes first started talking about impeaching that same WJC over (what turned out to be) the "consensual blowjob," not many people I can recall believed they'd actually do it.

IOW, we shouldn't let the assumption by many right now that Bush/Cheney will never be impeached dissuade us from believing it might really happen in the end.

In both those relatively recent cases (Nixon and Clinton), it was just when we were convinced it was never going to happen that it DID happen!

Also, I want to point something out that some of us may have considered already. Impeachment of both Bush and Cheney is on the lips of almost everyone across America.

It keeps coming up again and again, right? Every time a new scandal in that maladministration erupts or when people read what's happening at the ongoing Libby trial, revealing Cheney's involvement in that particular impeachable offense, people talk about impeachment.

The plain fact is, it's the "Talk of The Nation" -- and NOT just on NPR!

I think we should all take heart and, in spite of our frustration and impatience, recognize that these things have a certain TIMING to them. At some point, and I happen to believe it will be pretty soon now, THE TIME WILL BE JUST RIGHT, and we will be deciding how we're going to watch the impeachment proceedings of Bush or Cheney -- or BOTH!

And hey, wouldn't that last be a cool way to have it? Both of 'em at the same time! A genuine historic first!

So I don't think there's anything at all wrong with us continuing to talk about the impeachment of Bush AND Cheney as much as our little hearts desire.

The more talk there is about it out there, the more the people think about it and come to expect it and (hopefully) DEMAND it.

IMPEACH. INDICT. IMPRISON!
