I'm getting worried about Randi
I love her and I'm glad she's speaking out, but I'm afraid she'll get taken off the air. I heard her advise someone to smoke pot and get a urine test to try to keep them out of Iraq, yesterday. I know she is trying to save some lives, but what might be the consequence of advising people to go AWOL or smoke pot?

I hope she is speaking to good lawyers.

1. What is your concern?
Is it illegal to urge soldiers to smoke pot? No.

10. I wish I thought that legal or illegal mattered
to this administration.

2. I don't know what the "law" says, but it would be too bad if it were
illegal to speak your mind & give advice like that if you had access.

5. Not at all
I don't think what she is doing or saying is illegal. But I also don't think legal or illegal matters a whit to this administration.

I just don't want to see her get hurt or silenced.

8. me neither
I've always thought she had the perfect ability to voice my own anger.

She's a lot braver than I am, though. And I say that with admiration.

7. Advising people how not to get killed isn't illegal in this country...yet.
Edited on Wed Feb-07-07 08:50 PM by LibInTexas
She reminds me of the '60s and '70s when we had a draft and underground newspapers advised recruits how to avoid Viet Nam.

We still have freedom of speech. I worry about Randi because she is a voice in the wind that could have here voice silenced by some nut-job. She doesn't need good lawyers, she needs good bodyguards.

17. Hey, I am on your team.
I've been a Randi fan since the second or third day of Air America.

It's going to be OK, mi amigo. We are going to win this one. It will take some time but the level headed among us will win out. There just aren't enough deluded, stupid people to keep Bush and his Neo-con plans in power. We will win.

And if anybody thinks I am talking through my hat, I'll make a modest wager on it.

I remember the old days too, iwillalwayswonderwhy. Strange days indeed.

19. Take a big hug and an ounce of love from me.
I really think we are going to be OK. It's already started! The wheels grind slow, you know that, they always do, remember The War? It took forever for folks all over the country to gain the courage to say "No!" But we did it. And we will do it again.

Best wishes to you and yours.

16. They were called underground newpapers, but nobody busted their offices open and
destroyed their means of publication.

Radio and TV weren't even on par to what's going on these days. Nobody would have dared to broadcast the RW or left viewpoints without equal time and fear of losing their license to broadcast. Plus, there was no cable, no FOX, and no internet.

The internet is our underground newspaper today. The "liberal media" is owned by a few large corporate interests who only want their ownership to get bigger to make more money. They have no interest in news or public service, only the bottom line.
