Waxman: "...I suggest that he return to under that rock..."
I am watching the c-span airing of the Iraq oversight hearing, and OMG, did Waxman tear the idiot McHenry a new asshole.

Patrick McHenry spent his allotted time instead of asking questions of the witnesses go off on some nonsensical whirlwind of BS, which of course included Bill Clinton :eyes:. Once McHenry's time was over Waxman spanked McHenry's ass but good:

"I know that the gentleman wants to look at partisanship under every rock, but I suggest that he return to under that rock and look at his own reasons for trying to make everything partisan."

Damn, I can't say enough how much I respect Rep. Waxman.

1. It is stunning...
That the people of McHenry's district saw fit to elect an idiot savant to represent them.

By the by...just where does that moron come from, anyway? I would like to avoid that district like the plague.

5. NC, 10th district
...

Dear God(dess), do I feel bad for the rational people who live in his district...who are clearly out-numbered...

6. Ok, the idiot part I understand
what is the savant, or genius part? I think in his case, he's just an idiot.

I detest McHenry almost as much as I respect Waxman.

Thank you for posting that great smackdown.

8. The Republicants on that committee are so petulant and so rife with fury at being the minority.
Their fury at being forced to conduct oversight on their Dear Leader seeps through their every pore.

Another ridiculous statement made was something along the lines of,

"Who cares if billions have gone missing in Iraq?.... I mean, after Hurricane Katrina, the government handed out $2,000 debit cards, and some of them were used to buy color TVs.... so...."

So... so....what? I can't remember who it was, but this Republicant was fairly shaking with fury that Katrina survivors may have bought themselves a replacement TV, yet he greeted the vanishing of $8 billion dollars of taxpayer money with a shrug, and a "gee whiz, what's the big deal."

This hearing starkly pointed out what we'd be looking at if Republicants had maintained the majority, a bunch of shameless fools providing cover for the wanton boy at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

Go, Waxman!

15. Lately, it seems...
...that I've been hearing alot more of the "This is old news...", "Let's not engage in finger-pointing...", "We shouldn't be trying to play 'Gotcha'..." kind of crap coming from the Republican side.

17. I particularly love the "this is old news" nonsense
And as old as this "news" is, my dear Republican friends, you still didn't see fit to investigate it when it happened. Now, nearly four years later, Bulldog Waxman is starting down this very cold trail on which you're trying so hard to kick over the traces. But gee whiz, why don't we have another look at the Whitewater land deal? Three investigations probably wasn't enough, huh?

16. Bwa ha ha ha - McHenry is AN0THER chickenhawk republicon
Edited on Thu Feb-08-07 02:10 PM by SpiralHawk
Another big mouth who NEVER served his nation for even one day.

The republicons keep proving it: they have no honor

Here's a snipped from Distinguished and Decorated Democratic Vetern Jack Murtha,
laying the slapdown on another sleazy CHICKENHAWK republicon:

http://www.outsidethebeltway.com/archives/2006/06/congress_and_military_service/

Jack Murtha unleashed the chickehawk meme in the halls of Congress, castigating Patrick McHenry for vowing to continue the fight against Islamic extremists. (Video of McHenry’s remarks here.)

“It is easy to stay in an air-conditioned office and say, ‘I am going to stay the course,’ ” he said, angrily, after Mr. McHenry, who never served in the military, was finished. “It is the troops that are doing the fighting, not the members of Congress that are doing the fighting.”

Behind that exchange was a demographic reality: The debate, which has consumed the House and the Senate for the last two weeks, was largely conducted by men and women who have not served. Twenty-five percent of the House, and 31 percent of the Senate, are veterans, the lowest proportions since World War II, according to the Military Officers Association of America.

23. Henry Waxman
He's about the best of the best. He's been there as long as I can remember and now that he's on top he's gonna bust some bad guys asses.

Thanks goes to all the people who voted to put Democrats in the House of Representatives last November. Waxman is the fruit of your effort.
