Admin: "Invading Iran Will Show Everyone How Smart We Are"
Administration and government sources say Bush thinking and advisors stating that invading Iran will show everyone how smart the Administration was all along.

http://thinkprogress.org/2007/02/07/unger-article/

In this month’s issue of Vanity Fair, {Iraq justifications are being recycled}:

“Everything the advocates of war said would happen hasn’t happened,” says the president of Americans for Tax Reform, Grover Norquist, an influential conservative who backed the Iraq invasion. “And all the things the critics said would happen have happened. ..."

{snip}

1) Retired Defense Intelligence official Patrick Lang told Unger that Bush has ordered StratCom — the military command responsible for “nuclear weapons, missile defense and protection against weapons of mass destruction” — to draw up plans for a “massive strike against Iran.” Lang noted that the shift away from Central Command “to StratCom indicates they are talking about a really punishing air-force and naval air attack .”

2) Former CIA officer Phillip Giraldi said, “I’ve heard from sources at the Pentagon that their impression is that the White House has made a decision that war is going to happen.”

1. We already know how smart they are but ...
perhaps we've overestimated. Invading Iraq has proved they are completely clueless and possibly insane. Attacking Iran will only confirm that insanity.

3. Why not just go on an invasion quest and invade every country!!
You'll be just as smart doing that as you are now.

7. Well, that IS the plan, except the order of battle is Alphabetical ; )
The admin can only alphabetize out 3 letters, however.

9. Well and Grover Norquist for once tells the truth in the paragraph above
Grover "I wanna make the government so small and ineffectual that i can drown the government in a bathtub" Norquist found that Lake Pontchartrain Louisiana was not quite the right size or location to give the final coup de grace to our country, so now the administration inspired by his message of death to America to kill off this country once and for good (after downsizing it) is looking for an expanded Middle East morass to kill off our country in.

This is apparently on behalf of their international corporate friends who, when faced with a clear moral choice like that between thousands of american jobs in, say, an Illinois factory, and the alternative of moving those American jobs overseas to save a few more $$ for profit, the international corporate traitor class doesn't hesitate to destroy thousands of american lives, and america along with it. Given that, it's not surprising they would be desensitized to other actions that would hurt america bad.

11. In Greg Palast's recent book
he devastatingly details how pervasive Norquist's influence was on the early decisions in the CPA - and how disasterous the results have been. Yes, they are completely desensitized and disgusting.

This theme is what has begun to turn my gop leaning sibling away from the gop. The idea that the GOP policies seem to be more about making $$ for the few with complete disregard for this country and its citizens. This relative only started noticing when the kids were nearing college age and the realization that most professions were no longer "safe" began seeping in.

I believe this is the real fruits of the Reagan Revolution - bushco has been the RR on steroids.

...everything else he advocates.

8. Bush is a truly dangerous man. It's very frightening and no one
(other than petitions by citizens) seems to be stepping up to remove him from office. Why?????????????
