1. Bush's Mess ... List Of Failures
-- Al Qaeda resurgent in Afghanistan/Pakistan.

-- Anthrax terrorist(s) undiscovered and, apparently, all but forgotten.

-- Iraq war in a complete shambles.

-- Iran, Syria, Hamas and Hezbollah resurgent and empowered.

-- Civil liberties at home curtailed.

-- Budget Surplus turned into enormous budget deficit.

-- Increasing income and wealth gap between superwealthy and everyone else.

-- US image abroad fundamentally tarnished for at least a generation.

-- America's moral authority and exceptionalism destroyed forever.

-- Official governmental abuse: Plame/Libby, Abu Ghraib, Guantanamo, "black" prisons, disappearing US citizens and foreign nationals, illegal wiretapping, politicization of civil administration, etc.

-- Governmental incompetence: Katrina, Iraq, economy, $9 billion missing in Iraq, billions overspent on sweetheart contracts with Halliburton/KBR, Blackwater, etc.

-- Respect for the rule of law all but evaporated, Libby commutation, Cheney secrecy/Plame disclosure/advocacy of torture/refusal to comply with law/4th "secret branch" of government, illegal wiretapping, etc.

Good going, George! Everyone who voted for this jerk should be truly ashamed of themselves and ask forgiveness from those who did not.

Has this administration done anything right?

2. The 12 main failures of the Bush-Cheney administration:
A terrible legacy
By Rodrigue Tremblay

The accomplishments of the Bush-Cheney administration are very few, if any, but its wrongdoings are numerous and comprehensive. This administration has been a virtual wrecking crew for anything it has put its hands on. Here is a summary of the twelve most glaring failures of this administration.

1. The Bush-Cheney administration has been an aggressive militarist and imperialist administration, reverting to the old gunboat diplomacy. ...

2. The Bush-Cheney administration has been an administration that has betrayed democracy because it has relied on lies, deceit, propaganda and manipulation in a way that would have been worthy of a totalitarian regime. ...

3. The Bush-Cheney administration has been an administration that has destroyed the more than two century-old American tradition of separation of church and state. ...

In conclusion, it is hard, objectively, not to conclude that George W. Bush and his far right administration have been a disaster for America and for the world, and the consequences will linger on for years to come. They have been agents of uncontrolled greed, of uncontrolled militarism, of massive incompetence and of illegal policies. By any account, this is a most dismal record.

4. George Bush is Immoral
In addition to being a liar whose entire life is a lie, George Bush is an immoral hypocrite.

Bush claims to be a "born again" Christian. He campaigned -- at least the first time -- on "compassionate conservatism" and he pumped for more federal assistance to faith-based organizations. He peppers his speeches with Biblical quotations and references. He claimed in one of the Presidential debates -- when asked if he consulted his father about invading Iraq -- that he consulted with a "higher father" (meaning God) and he replied to another question that Jesus was his favorite philosopher.

People should be judged by the standards they set for themselves. Let's do this for George Bush. He claims to be a Christian. Let's judge him by the standards of Jesus.

He fails.

5. A Staggering MESS
The world after George Bush: Bush's successor to clean up a staggering mess

A pattern of disasters

Bush called for a humble foreign policy as a candidate. But he and his advisers -- especially Vice President Dick Cheney -- believed from the start that America was so much stronger than all possible competitors that it need not be constrained from acting unilaterally whenever it saw the need. Bush has broken with predecessors of both parties, who sought security in strong alliances, support for the United Nations, diplomatic engagement with dangerous rivals, and respect for international treaties. And when deciding on fateful policies, Bush has often disdained to take into account the cultural and historical conditions specific to key countries.

In practice, that attitude has resulted in one calamity after another: the breakout of Iranian influence, unnecessary tensions with Russia, Bush's refusal to demand a quick halt to last summer's war between Israel and Hezbollah, US disavowal of the Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty and the Kyoto protocol, and six years of declining to stem the tide of extremism by actively seeking to broker a peace accord between Israelis and Palestinians.

Clearly Iraq is Bush's greatest failure. Whether the many-sided conflicts raging there are the inevitable consequence of the US invasion or whether they stem from incoherent post-invasion policies, the result is the same: Sunni Arabs and Shi'ites are slaughtering each other. Al Qaeda in Iraq, an affiliate of Osama bin Laden's gang, is sending suicide bombers to blow up mosques and markets, police stations, and US vehicles. With jihadist partners, the group has declared an Islamic State of Iraq in the west of the country. Disparate Shi'ite militias, each with its own source of Iranian backing, are killing Sunnis and Americans and fighting each other for local dominance.
