Let's suppose all else is equal. In both situations, the aggressor is pissed off at the victim for the same reason, whatever it is.

I now ask: which of the two aggressions is worse?

Example: I don't think a husband or a wife should physically attack and abuse their spouse no matter how pissed off they are. Same thing with a parent and child attacking the other. (Self defense was not mentioned in the original post, so I'm assuming we're talking about plain aggression against a victim.)
