Don't worry, everybody!
There's no such thing as global warming! It's bullshit!
:sarcasm:

This according to the 70 year old lawyer who shares office space with us -- and the WSJ.

After some Op/Ed they published yesterday, he's been literally sitting in his office for the last two mornings calling everyone he knows to tell them that "global warming is bullshit". And there's absolutely no reasoning with him.

Watching and listening to him, I'm beginning to see why this problem will not be fixed; he's in sheer denial and will cling to absolutely anything that reinforces his belief that he and his generation did NOT ruin the planet.

It's going to be a bumpy ride, folks.

5. A sacrifice is supposed to be a GIFT, something of VALUE.
How do you think Thor is gonna like it if you send Him something like this guy?

2. Wow, thank God, who could just put a stop to it anyway, if it WERE true
Oh, and if you want to PROVE that global warming is bullshit, just look out the window at your thermometer. The Freepers say that if it is less than 40 degrees outside, it scientifically proves that Al Gore is delusional.

We are so lucky to have such sharp minds on the case!

6. Funny -- he's actually said that very thing
"Even if it is, we can't do anything. What, is everybody going to stop driving their cars?"

:argh:

7. Interesting coming from a lawyer who accepts an Op/Ed in the WSJ
as "authority".

I became a lifelong skeptic of "truth" and "authority" within the first semester of law school as I discovered that truth is a relative entity, that is, it is dynamic, it changes, it can be taken out of context, it can be manipulated, it can be misstated and misquoted and misrepresented, it can be applied inappropriately, it can be challenged, etc. Truth is fleeting in many instances.

And cited is an assumedly veteran barrister, who is taking an opinion in a newspaper that is unashamedly biased and using the information as though it has been researched, challenged, and vetted, and calling it "truth".

I wouldn't want this guy to be representing me. Dial "M" for "malpractice".

9. Yale educated, no less
Both for undergrad and for his JD.

When he elatedly told me about this "new information", I quite calmly informed him that the Op/Ed page of the Street is about as reliable and biased as Fox News and that I wouldn't trust anything from that rag.

We don't get along very well.

12. The changes are coming faster than anyone expected so guys
like this will be forced to "see" even if they don't want to. How does he feel about killing American youth in Iraq for the oil to fill those cars? The changes we are asking for now do not only answer the problem of global warming, they also move us to economic independence from ME oil. When people like him look at the problems as separate issues they do not see the big picture. Ask him how he likes borrowing 2billion a day from China?
