Will the USA attack Iran before the end of the year?

By attack I mean an open attack, could be bombings of facilities, could be shock and awe, but it has to be open and most likely have some media-friendly operation name, Operation Just Freedom or something.

Feel free to share your reasons for thinking it shall or shall not happen. I honestly don't know what to think and I would like to see what predictions DUers have. I guess if I had to guess I would say yes, simply because the rhetoric is very similar to that of Iraq and because I think there's a lot of people in government who see time running out and what to get the deed done before it's too late.

I don't think they have the public support for it even with all the scare talk. And I think it would be signing a deathknell for Republicanism for quite a while.

We will never attack Iran. It isn't even a notion for consideration of being placed upon "the table".

The administration has already thumbed their nose at the will of the public, and of the Congress, and practically everyone else, so we know that won't stop 'em. I remain convinced an attack on Iran is imminent.

4. I think it could be a "wag the dog" tactic, if Cheney feels the noose...

of impeachment tightening around his neck. If they do attack, it could spell the end of the Republican party, but only if there's a groudswell of outrage on our part, and the media doesn't play stenographer...
