When I first heard about it, I thought it sounded as though she was being somewhat excessive.

Now it seems to appear like one set up.

I have to say, there is the typical double standard here. Mercy and carte blanche treatment for all Republican legislators, and justice and constant critism and attacks for Democrats who happen to receive the same equal treatment.

I also have to wonder if this would have even been brought up had Pelosi been a Republican AND/OR had Pelosi been a white male legislator.

I do sense there is some sexism happening here.

1. Yes, he/she/it would still have a (D) next to their name.
and the GOP would still be a bunch of toddlers having a hissy.

2. We All Know The Answer
We all know the answer to your question.

Of course there would be no issue -- it would not even be discussed -- if the Speaker were a white male.

But, because the Speaker is a female, the talking heads love to go on and on about how awful it is that the Speaker thinks she should have SAFE, comfortable, and speedy transportation between DC and her constituents.

Sexism and RACISM are at work here.

3. In a word NO
This has to do with the word DEMOCRAT not the word FEMALE. If she were a Feamle Republican Speaker this would not be an issue, it is that she is a Democratic Female Speaker that changes the whole story.

5. Yes, there would be. The only way there's no issue is if she were a Republican. NT.
