Thom Hartmann Just Gave DU Major Props! INRE: Family Security Matters
Edited on Wed Aug-15-07 11:46 AM by zehnkatzen
I just finished listening to Portland's Own Thom Hartmann who was talking about the "President for Life" group–Family Security Matters.

Relevant DUers are CK4829 (which check his DU Journal...it's the third or fourth article down...and Thom mentioned DUer "Raindog" in particular. I tried linking to CK4829's journal out of this post but DU wasn't having it.

He have a rocket ride around the Family Security Matters scheme and exactly what they wanted to do. He gilded no lilies; the velvet cover came off the two-by-four.

And who did he give the credit for outing this group and the neocon trogs who power it?

Little ol' Democratic Underground.

I cannot say I was involved in the muckraking thereon–wish I could–but I thought everyone would like to know that Thom Hartmann just told the world about these very scary unpatriots and put the credit for shining the sunlight on them right where it belonged.

Moreover he used it as an excellent example of the fundamental difference between the conservative weltanshauung (hierarchical followers–some of you might call them sheeple) and the liberal one (we are free agents).

Those of you who outed this group–good on you. I stand in admiration of you!

12. Could someone explain GrovelBot to me?
Seriously.

I've seen him in one place (over on the Mike Malloy Tuesday check-in thread) and referred to obliquely here.

How do I use the information expressed in the title of this message's parent?

Grovelbot (a robot who grovels for money) is the creation of the administrators of DU to get money. To solicit money. Grovelbot pops up on any thread with 30 posts to it. It can be very funny to see the bot on flat out flamefests.

10. Check out ck4829's Journal and do a search for "Raindog" (and i finally figured out how to link!)
Thom particularly credited Raindog for the investigation.

sounds like the owner of this site has them figured out. I'm going surfin...

Another quote:

The wisest course would have been for President Bush to use his nuclear weapons to slaughter Iraqis until they complied with his demands, or until they were all dead. Then there would be little risk or expense and no American army would be left exposed. But if he did this, his cowardly electorate would have instantly ended his term of office, if not his freedom or his life.

recommending that Mr. Bush should be made president for life is by far the most insane thing I've read. It has to be a joke. Someone please tell me it is.
