PETA sets sights on ROVE
Rove Finds Himself in PETA's Crosshairs

As if he hasn't taken enough heat for what he did in the White House, Karl Rove is coming under fresh attack for what he plans to do after he leaves on August 31. Specifically, his Labor Day weekend plan to go dove hunting down in Texas, which The Sleuth disclosed earlier this week.

PETA, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, was so outraged to learn about Rove's hunting excursion that it faxed a letter to the White House late Wednesday.

"Dear Mr. Rove," began the letter from President Ingrid E. Newkirk. "From your frequent hunting trips to your bizarre little rap at the Radio and Television Correspondents' Association dinner ("I like to go home, get a drink, and tear the tops off of small animals"), it is clear that you lack the ability to empathize with other living beings. You consistently prove that you care less about animal welfare than Alberto Gonzales cares about habeas corpus."

2. typical of PETA, say nothing of the Iraq war that kills a million people,
and complain about a few birds.

May Rove and PETA fight it out to the finish.

5. Oh, let 'em have their snark...
Just because they don't mention O.I.L. in their letter doesn't mean they aren't against it too.

FWIW, I have differences with PETA and don't support them.

8. But they did support the Iraq war. They only wanted to make sure troops ate vegie meals.
PETA Calls For "Cruelty-Free" War

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) delivered a boatload of vegan cookies during Christmas to the Navy crew aboard the USS Truman. PETA was seeking to promote vegetarianism among the troops and considered the sweet treats to be the "best weapon in the war against cruelty to animals." The controversial animal rights group now is revving up its anti-meat campaign for Valentine's Day. PETA is mailing candy heart boxes to thousands of U.S. and British troops. The boxes contain vegan chocolates and a card with a "Valentines don't eat other Valentines" message.

PETA President Ingrid Newkirk explained, "Even as bombs are dropping around and bullets are flying, we're hoping that by turning to a vegetarian diet during combat, our brave men and woman in uniform will make this a cruelty-free war." Ms. Newkirk insisted that she was not under the influence of hallucinogens.

Ms Newkirk is of course a racist and a fascist.

10. Sounds more like supporting the troops, not the war
Rascist and a fascist. Wow. With a reach like that, you should be a boxer.

14. I don't quite think this is the same thing...
...wanting to see the troops properly (if bizarrely) fed isn't supporting the war, it's supporting the troops, as the other poster mentioned.

I doubt PETA's opinion on anything carries any weight with the Republican party. And wanting our troops to be properly supplied is something that I think crosses all points of view.

As I said, I don't support PETA-I have too many differences with them.

I think this is one point we'll have to agree to disagree on.

4. Mad Dogs and Englishmen
The only kind of hunting I'd care to do in August in Texas is spearfishing in the Gulf. Maybe the SOB will keel over in the heat.

7. Bloomin' idiots don't know when to quit.
I like the last paragraph, wherein Perino abandons her "I'm a dumb female " act and criticizes democrats on their abilities, or lack thereof, on handling weapons.

Dumbass probably doesn't remember that the greatest offender in recorded history is her own beloved pet pit bull--Dork Chainy.

9. Getting Tiresome
This whole coat-tailing onto everything big going on in the media thing that PETA continues to pull is fairly annoying.

12. I think he makes a point of playing the "evil genius" and he likes it.
when he says he wants to go rip the heads off small animals or go dove hunting, he's playing to his image which he likes. The sad thing is, he really is evil, and he knows it. But when he talks like this he's trying to pretend it's a silly little name-calling game, while we all know it's anything but a game. I also think he's thumbing his nose when he talks like that.
