He managed to mug Rita COSBY off the air for his second hour. He played some of the Scooter tapes from the grand jury. His guest, an ex-Fed prosecuter said (he thinks) Scooter HAS to testify, that CHEENEE will NOT be called. Tweety said that if people would watch his circus the way Scooter and CHEENEE watched it, his ratings would beat American Idol. Then he said that he LOVES this trial, that we are LEARNING something, learning how we went to war. That's when he dropped (the subject line, above).

He also snipped the tapes off when they got to the part about "RUSSERT HATES CHRIS."

This afternoon, while Rita was SWAMPING MSRNC, I took a break and sure enough CAVUTO was NOT "doing" the Rita thing. He was adoringly interviewing Clint EASTWOOD, doing his damndest to draw Clint into being a wingnut icon. Clint said he is a Libertarian, or actually said he's calling himself that because the two parties today don't really reflect the Right-Left divide.

CAVUTO sweated his way to try to get Clint to declare himself a wingnut and to support Shrub. He asked him about Hollywood Liberals. Clint spun him out on every front. He said that Sean PENN and STREISAND have THE SAME right to speak out the same as ANY citizen, that the only positive thing he can say about Shrub is that he stays put despite the polls, that Clint is AGAINST the (Iraq Attack), that democracy cannot be "given" to somebody, that people have to want it and win it for themselves. He was a fine, old wine.
