Did anyone listen to Colin Cowherd on ESPN radio today?
Edited on Thu Feb-08-07 10:16 PM by TN al
He didn't talk about it very long but he referred to something Rush said on his show Monday. He said that Rush said that the media was all over Rex Grossman because they want to see a white quarterback fail. Cowherd implied that he knew Rush or at least had met him and that Rush was a racist. He didn't use the word racist but I definitely inferred that that was his meaning. He then ran down a long list of white quarterbacks that the "liberal media" couldn't praise highly enough as proof that Rush was full of shaving cream. I listen to Cowherd from time to time but today he shot up in my estimation. It reminds me of the time that Rush was fired from ESPN for his comments on McNabb. That night I was listening to a different sports call-in show, I don't remember which one, and the host, I don't remember who, was berating Rush for his racist comments. He said he would take callers on any subject except Rush because the best you could say about Rush's comments was that if he wasn't a racist for saying it then he was an idiot for saying it. He kept getting calls from freepers trying to defend Rush and he kept hanging up on them because he said Rush was indefensible so he didn't have the time to take any calls trying to defend him. As he signed off he commented that he didn't know why but that night he had had the stupidest callers he had ever had in his career. I knew why. Because freepers who don't normally call sports shows were calling him that night. Hence the stupidest callers he had ever had. Anyway, getting back to Cowherd, it definitely sounded like Cowherd knew more than you or I did about Rush because he had had some personal contact with him. And it also definitely sounded like Cowherd thought Rush was a racist because of his inside knowledge of the man even before the Grossman comments. Of course we all know Rush is a racist but this is the first time I heard someone imply that he knew Rush and that yes he was a racist. Did anyone else hear Cowherd talk about this and if so did you get the same impression.
